Either Trump know's something we don't in regards to a vaccine etc or he know's this is the Armageddon and he really is just hoping for a miracle.

I will admit, this is all starting to get to me and I hope we can all pull through.

Or Trump is an idiot with a huge ego.

The weirdest part is that 90% (anecdote) of the 90% who trust Trump more than the CDC will openly admit Trump is a chronic liar (not directly of course, the response to "is Trump a sociopathic liar?" Is never "No."...but rather ""well they all lie")

Republicans are wild as fuck.

The bill bans stock buybacks for any corporation that accepts government loans during the term of their assistance plus one year.

Schumer added a provision to ban businesses owned by the president, vice president, members of Congress and the heads of federal executive departments from receiving loans or investments through the corporate liquidity program. The prohibition also applies to their children, spouses and in-laws.

The legislation creates an inspector general and oversight committee for the corporate assistance program, similar to what was done for the Troubled Asset Relief Program of a decade ago, according to the senior administration official
This part. People need to pay attention. Republicans didn't want this stuff in there. Evil Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer just saved you a fuckload of money.

YouGov polls are kinda questionable that being said Trump still has a large proportion of the Republican party who support him. Just look at how many Republican congressmen and Senators bend to his will. What's more interesting is the CDC has pretty high poll numbers even on the Republican side that may explain somewhat why Trump has not fired Dr. Fauci many older Trump supporters possible like the guy.

Open your wallets lad, Trump bucks incoming.
That's great, but why not just get the tests made and nationalize production of masks, ventilators, etc.?

This stuff should have been done 2 months, still isn't being done, and now they're just giving everyone free shit.

If you can't do that basic shit then none of this other shit matters. This other stuff is just icing on the cake, but we have no cake..

This doesn't sound legal. How can you legally discriminate against people just because of who they married or who their parents are?

they can sue the government if they choose to.

Combined death rate of the "Latin Quarter" (France Italy Spain) is 8.16%. That's a category 5 on CDC Pandemic Severity Index & 5+ percentage points higher than the fatality rate of 1918 Spanish Flu. Whatever dark thing burned Notre Dame appears not to be done over there.

Since the last week of February, less than a month ago, coronavirus has killed 11,354 people in France, Italy and Spain.

And then there is this from Franc24

Top French hospital executive says coronavirus toll higher than official tally

A) your post is retarded

B) they’re doing that, and about 5000 other things

WASHINGTON — When Ford’s chief executive, Jim Hackett, announced on Tuesday that the carmaker would team up with General Electric to build ventilators, he tempered the good news with a note of caution: “We’re talking about early June.”

That was just one of several examples that underscored the price of the Trump administration’s slow response to evidence as early as January that the coronavirus was headed to the United States.

For the first time, it is now possible to quantify the cost of the lost weeks, as President Trump was claiming as recently as February that in a “couple of days” the number of cases in the United States “is going to be down to close to zero.”

Ford’s timeline suggested that if the administration had reacted to the acute shortage of ventilators in February, the joint effort between Ford and General Electric might have produced lifesaving equipment sometime in mid- to late April.

fumbled its first effort to send out a test. Commercial laboratories could have produced their own tests earlier, according to industry officials, and governors have said that the wartime law would result in desperately needed equipment arriving in weeks, instead of months.

The gap between the production timelines and the need for immediate supplies led to a scathing assessment from Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York. New York accounts for more than 25,000 cases, more than half the total in the country, he said, but it has received only 400 ventilators from the federal government.

It’s so crazy how evil the left is, it’s frightening. Trump imposed China travel
Restrictions in January, fucking January.

In January, Biden and the demonrats called Trump a Xenophobic racist because of the restrictions. The Dems focused on their shampeachment let this happen and now has their media arm perpetuating a narrative that Trump failed.

Sure Trump early on tried to calm the people, yet the ill TDS folks spun it like they always do as if it was malicious.

Please, spare me.

That bitch would spend every saved dime on taxpayer funded sex changes for Guatemalan porcupines.

I actually made a joke about it on my facebook, but ok

Not sure what point you're trying to make. Everything is shut down. Yes you can still buy alcohol and weed and yes it's funny but everything else minus grocery stores and pharmacies are closed.

...and car dealerships...and convenience stores...and pet stores...and restaurant take out...and construction sites...and home improvement stores...

My point is that despite the tough rhetoric, and hyperbolic claims of a "shut down", they're really not taking it all that seriously yet, and you won't get many results with a half assed quarantine. The government is still basically "suggesting" it be taken seriously with an honor system of social distancing. People are still out and about, gathering in crowds, and basically doing whatever they're not supposed to, but still allowed to do because the government hasn't brought the hammer down.

The "severe" measures we've taken, are no more severe than what they're doing most everywhere else. We are not tackling this in any sort of uniquely proactive way, like you suggested. In true Canadian fashion, our government is basically asking us nicely to stay home.
