Law Coronavirus the US GOV'T Response analysis Thread

I said this previously in V1 of the Corona Megathread.

Trump's response to this issue will likely make or break his re-election bid.

It seems more and more likely that COVid19 may accomplish what millions of dollars of tax payer dollars and an Impeachment failed to do.

And over 1 million people were tested within a month of the first diagnosis of H1N1. Compare that to how many people have been tested for this. And skip the corny insults, we’re all adults here there’s no need for it.

proof or it didnt happen

I don't think so. Voters are not going to blame him for a Chinese pandemic no matter how much the media tries to push that bs. No believes what they say anyway. It might inadvertently just piss people off and motivate them to support him. Like trying to blame Bush for Katrina did. It's so transparent.

They can blame him for completely failing to respond to the pandemic for completely selfish reasons until it was already way too late and cutting the budget of the CDC and other essential healthcare services every year in office including as recently as February, two months after the original outbreak.

Fair enough.. can we wait for the 'America is broken' assesment until we have (hopefully not) deaths comparable to the other countries?

I wasn't offering any assessment yet. For me test kit availability will be a big litmus. I will revisit it Monday.

Are those countries I listed upset with their leadership for their response?

I haven't looked into the potential international criticisms. Other than that leveled against the Chinese government, of course.

Which is ultimately the reason they won't blame him one bit. The media is so utterly delusional about their credibility and influence. Them blaming Trump, is actually helping Trump. If they would just turn the TDS off for a little while, and just reported this as the random outbreak that it is, and not tell people who to blame, people actually might start questioning the response, and some people might actually flip on Trump when they independently evaluate it. The moment they all come out in unison, and say "Blame Trump!", the people they want to flip, immediately just go "Oh', fuck off", and it just becomes a partisan shit show where the heels get dug in.

The reasoning behind this argument is fawlty at best. At this point the media is blaming Trump for saying the disease came from China. I’ll say one thing though..when these guys get their directives from CNN and the like they really go for it

it's a fake pandemic with made up criteria

with the flu, there are actual levels of death that are calculated to categorize whether it's an epidemic or pandemic

coronavirus..... nothing

Let's for arguments sake assume what this is true.... ITS YEAR FUCKING 4 OF HIS PRESIDENCY

I guess he admits that Obama should take credit for the economy then. Basically whatever is bad, blame Obama and whatever makes him look good take credit for it. Also what happened again about him not trying to politicizing the Corona virus?

I imagine the tests were available. The CDC is in charge of this. The power is delegated to them. I'm sure 47 sentences in a 10 minute speech would have completely changed the way everybody in the entire medical community and the CDC did their job.

I think this pandemic may be Trump's "Pet Goat" moment.

Do you support the Trump admin slashing the CDC budget and other healthcare service budgets every year in office including as recently as February two months after the outbreak started?

It's not my favorite thing he has done. Any cuts like this in conjunction with the adding to the military's budget reminds me of why I didn't vote Republican for 16 years. He has establishment Republican's around him that he needs (very sadly) on his side, and they contribute to these ideas.

So do you think the Trump admin deserves any blame for the current situation?

You agree they cut the budgets on these programs, right?

Not much. I don't think it would have made much, if any difference. America prolonged the spread, and actually made a better effort at keeping it out (the only thing that really could have prevented it) than most other countries.
