This has nothing to do with Trump, partisanship, or any of the other generally petty shit we all fight over around here.

point was, if you remove all the economic gains - what is left of trump presidency?

also if trump office had better response to this virus and didnt send mixed messages (flip flopping like they do on almost every issue) these last couple of days, maybe things wouldnt be as bad? also if your healthcare was actually fixed as promised by trump, maybe things wouldnt be as bad now?

all this virus is exposing is trumps incompetence and all the wrong moves he did during his presidency.

I'm well aware of your "point", my point is that it's much bigger than partisan bickering.
Trump Trump Trump......Obama, Clinton, whomever your left wing heroes may be wouldn't have done any better....it's beyond them and us. Look past your distaste for Trump...this issue is a lot bigger.

I completely agree that this is beyond partisan bickering - whole political system in US is fucked, and this is the greatest evidence of it:

Yet still the best system in the world.

Are you from the US?

Trump has been using the stock market as a measure of his own success

Saying he understands the economy better than anyone

I wonder what he has to say now

what do you mean best system in the world? that cant even be considered democracy - yes, everyone is given right to vote but candidate with most votes doesnt win
its basically rigging elections to make sure your candidate wins
and parties (republicans/democrats) do everything in their power to nominate only the candidate THEY approve of, not the voters (evident by bernie being sabotaged and republicans trying to sabotage trump in 2015)

Oh I didn't claim it isn't corrupt as fuck. It is.

But please by all means inform me of a better place to live and work.

Idealism doesn't work in an un idealistic world. As much as I'd have been right there with you 20 some years ago, eventually you have to accept the fact that you can't control any of that. All you can do is play the hand you were given to it's best potential. All the bitching and fussing in the world won't change any of it.

UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea > all those countries have better healthcare, worker rights, police (police isnt as mental as in US), comparable standards and justice system, better infrastructure (like telecommunications) + are mostly atheist and dont have idiotic laws concerning women

I'd also name some poorer countries like spain, italy, etc where life is mostly stress free and people dont get heart attacks having to work 2 jobs to cover medical bills or skip vacations cause they are afraid of getting fired

Have you lived in these places or is just based on what you read?
Not meant to be combative either as I'm at least partially with you on the Scandinavian countries.
But UK, Germany, Singapore and SK? Cmon...

And one of your parameters is atheism? Do you think the USA is run by the church? I'll never back a theological government under any circumstances, but at least ask yourself: If everyone just followed the ten commandments don't you think the world as whole would be a better place? You don't have to believe in god, the church or anything else...only the ten commandments.....and women? US women are among the most free in the world in terms of education and job opportunities. Yes, before it comes I'll agree that there is an unfair wage gap, but I also feel that gap is closing.
And you still haven't answered: Do you live in the USA?

Trump's fault...I'm sure this gets every snowflake through the night...

Is anyone all that surprised that the inflated economy numbers and substantial growth in such a relatively short time period was simply not sustainable.

this certainly is not his fault, but you know for Goddamn sure he is beyond rustled - & not for the appropriate reasons.

Not even his supporters truly believed that. They were just hoping it would carry through the election period. Nope, stock market crashed less than 8 months before due to crisis nearly everyone agrees the U.S is mismanaging

I'm glad to finally see a thread on this.

There are a million and one ways for us to reach market collapse (pandemic, war, global recession etc etc)
But the market collapsing is the bottom line no matter how we get there.
This has nothing to do with Trump, partisanship, or any of the other generally petty shit we all fight over around here.
If the market collapses it will be anarchy. People will murder one another over a bag of peanuts and rape on a whim.

We all need to pray to whatever god or gods we choose that it doesn't get to that point.

Only those of us prepared will stand much of a chance.
Apt user name lol

I've been to UK (several of my friends work in Ireland and Great Britain) on several occasions, shitload of my family lives in germany, sweden > I know what rights they have as workers, I know their living conditions and how good their healthcare system is and all of that is miles ahead of US
I've visited Singapore

and me living there or not makes no difference as to whether or not those countries have better living standard than US

I live in EU
yes, USA is run by church since both republicans and democrats are huge conservatives and some of the laws are asinine

Dude even many south american countries beat the US and Ex Sovirt block countries. In quality of life. I am very well travelled and have lived in several countries. Americans are obese and falling apart and unhappy and culturally living in a hell created by Hollywood and weirdness. The happiest Americans are the ones who ars rich and celebs or plutocrats or right wingers living in their own bubble world ruled by religion. See muslims and jews and christian fundamentalists who dont watch TV etc.

US has higher per capita gdp then most places vut it is skewed the average by non normally distributed income disparity. Also money doesnt mean everything and adjust to mental health and sex life. Most non african countries, non indian and non war torn countries people have enough to eat and a roof over their head.
