do people hate/fear cops that much in the US? they called the cops on me last night over an altercation. the interaction with them was like going to the grocery store.
Which falls right into the list of reasonable bodily risks that a person that goes into that line of work should expect.
Next week's headline: Firefighter sustains burns while putting out fire. More at 5!
Indeed. People are desensitized and callous to just about anything these days. Honestly, even if it wasn't a cop I'd expect about the same. Pretty sad state of affairs either way.

At least he has your admiration.
And, i know no one wants to say it, but this is one of those crimes that bears a distinct mark on it. You knew who did it, by the specific nature of the crime.
Actually I didn't, that thought crossed my mind after you spelled it out.
Either way, the cop got beat up and that was unfortunate, I still think he made the better decision if the other one was to shoot the guy. It actually took some balls to do that.
And people will not write about all the altercations that go down like this where no one gets shot OR beat up.
What is worth celebrating is usually what didn't happened (which very few even think is a concept at all), and I'm not that into fear porn anyway.
Well this just proves that if a criminal does get a cops gun they're not going to shoot the cop with it. So that means there's no reason for a cop to shoot an unarmed suspect.

Somethings not right with this story. Cops are lying/holding some details here.
oh and attempted murder for hitting him with the gun? I watched a cop beat a man in the head with a baton and he wasnt even being violent, he wasnt charged with no attempted murder.
