Cop doesn't shoot unarmed suspect and is pistol whipped, bystanders tweet pictures

do people hate/fear cops that much in the US? they called the cops on me last night over an altercation. the interaction with them was like going to the grocery store.

Which falls right into the list of reasonable bodily risks that a person that goes into that line of work should expect.

Next week's headline: Firefighter sustains burns while putting out fire. More at 5!

you must be some sort of liberal or something

some sort of knuckle dragger

Indeed. People are desensitized and callous to just about anything these days. Honestly, even if it wasn't a cop I'd expect about the same. Pretty sad state of affairs either way.

Yep. Like that guy on the subway(?) a few months back who got stabbed like 40 times while people crowded up against the other side of the car. :icon_sad:

Well live and learn I guess. Next time I imagine he will be far more willing to shoot regardless of public outcry. Oh well, a win for all the morons I guess.

Just like that lady who died in the aisle of a store and instead of people helping her they all pulled out phones and started filming.

If I saw an officer getting beat down and get his pistol taken away, I would kill the guy doing the attacking.

Only the morons.

At least he has your admiration.

And, i know no one wants to say it, but this is one of those crimes that bears a distinct mark on it. You knew who did it, by the specific nature of the crime.

Actually I didn't, that thought crossed my mind after you spelled it out.

Either way, the cop got beat up and that was unfortunate, I still think he made the better decision if the other one was to shoot the guy. It actually took some balls to do that.

And people will not write about all the altercations that go down like this where no one gets shot OR beat up.

What is worth celebrating is usually what didn't happened (which very few even think is a concept at all), and I'm not that into fear porn anyway.

This is poor reasoning, clearly the correct decision in this particular case would have been to shoot the guy.

Well this just proves that if a criminal does get a cops gun they're not going to shoot the cop with it. So that means there's no reason for a cop to shoot an unarmed suspect.

Home boy still got an attempted murder charge on him though.

From Sweden I notice.

LOL.

You guys have seriously warped realities. The better choice for the cop is take the beating and hope the attacker doesn't kill him with his own weapon?

LOL.

Now we understand how you can simply hand your country over to immigrants. Maybe they will treat you with the same kindness this attacker showed. Much easier to just take the beating than preserve your culture.

Just shoot the guy in the fuckin' dick and call an ambulance. Nobody dies, cop goes home to his modern family.

Somethings not right with this story. Cops are lying/holding some details here.

oh and attempted murder for hitting him with the gun? I watched a cop beat a man in the head with a baton and he wasnt even being violent, he wasnt charged with no attempted murder.

And Im pretty sure the cop lied about saying he didnt shoot because the media thing. He just got his ass kicked like a bitch and said "uhhh uhhh i didnt want to cause a media storm" Like cops think about that when being murdered.....

The attempted murder charge is kind of bullshit. If he really wanted to murder the officer, wouldn't he have just shot him?

What are the cops lying about? The officer DIDN'T actually get his ass beat? Your bias is showing.

Attempted murder is a bit high. However, that's the DA's decision, not the police.

Or "Criminal is shot after attacking police officer, or committing felony then being aggressive towards responding police"

It works both ways

They left out important details like is the cop white? The victim black? C'mon ppl

Usually only unconscious or severely beaten suspects end up "going for the cops gun". It looks good on a police report. This time someone did it for real and didnt even try to kill the cop?
