For someone who has watched the Nuggets for years, the stat padding accusation is the most absurd take.
Why?
1) Jokic had tons of games where he is a rebound or assist shy of a triple double, get he exits the game pretty early in the fourth because of lead size. It happens so often, the color commentators gave it a name - "The Sombor Double". Yoke could easily have another 20 or maybe 30 career triple doubles if he decides to play more minutes.
2 - When Yoke gets a triple double, his team wins an absurd amount of the time. At one point this year he eclipsed by a meaningful margin the consecutive team wins in a game you scored a triple double, I think it was 26 games in a row. I think overall Nuggets win around 90% of the games he gets a triple double because unlike Westbrook, Jokic gets his trip - dubs through efficient management of the team's offense, not through volume and usage rate. The hot take of criticizing a player for playing in a style that affords his team to win at that percentage was one of the worst analytical takes possible.
Then finally the playoffs was a nail in the coffin for all debate really and just goes to show the ugly side of wokism where you are essentially denying the reality of a situation and being blatantly racist by not having a fucking clue about what you're talking about while accusing others who do know what they are talking about as being racist. Pretty common tactic of woke shitheads.
