Social Controversy over ESPN article on Jokic that some label racist

Yikes. From the article:

So if you challenge an incorrect stance, you're proving it right. Just lmao. This guy is a hack.

Absolutely. Disagreement is evidence of White Fragility. It’s an excellently thought out ideological position, your only options are to agree with the accuser or to prove do otherwise and prove their accusations correct.

I called steve nash the great white hope.
then it was dirk.
now its jokic and luka

chubby serb rise
exactly.

Seems to be a pattern in the Sports Media currently whenever a Euporean/American player makes news in a positive light.

The easy solution is to not watch or read anything related to that boring ass sport
Basketball is probably the most similar sport to MMA & Boxing in the sense that it isn’t over until the very end. A lot can happen in 5 seconds in a close game. I don’t follow it, but it’s the only team sport that I can enjoy watching.

But the author was on ESPN..

TBF a lot of people wind up on ESPN at one point or another.

But to your point, this is the exact BS that ESPN loves to peddle in. I don't watch them anymore. I love the show PTI, and always will. But pretty much all their other content can go straight to hell. Not a single person I find interesting or insightful covering basketball, the NFL coverage was better but still pretty bad.

I wasn't surprised by the racist article that one of ESPN author.
Had posted earlier this week.

What i am surprised off is how ESPN is actually tolerating it.
Balkan Slavs and Slavs in general are actually minorities.

The fact that this went with their approval to pose the racist article.
There are many sites talking about this even MMA ones.

This is another reason i can not stand ESPN.

Controversy over ESPN article on Jokic that some label racist

Magic Johnson and many other black players said Larry was amazing... including Kareem Abdul Jabbar and he didn't speak highly of many players.

Not to get anti-religious, but, it's like one of the god arguments.

oh you don't believe in creation? tell me how evolution occurred

woooooow, you believe god is so great he created everything through that convoluted process? praise jesus suit yourself what a designer!

Article is well written and thoughtful.

I don’t find it to be race baiting, just a perspective from a black person who has thought about basketball through the lens of racism.

He’s got a right to do that, part of free speech you know. He makes points that are undeniable - the great white hype is real.

There may be some racial undertones to his own writing , but it’s not anything to cancel the dude over.

Jokic is exceptional and he does things no one else has done. So it’s not unreasonable to discuss his potential in the top 20 or even to 15.
