Conor McGregor's legacy | Shattered or building?

And I agreed with you on both, Aldo clean win. Alvarez clean win it's his paths to those clean winz I question.

Kind of hard to question his FW run lmao

Brimage
Holloway
Brandao
Porier
Siver
Mendes

Come on man..
The current champion is in his FW run.
Porier a top contender at LW now.
Mendes still relevant.

....Aldo was legit the same size as Conor besides reach. The only small guys Conor fought were brimage, brandao, and mendes. Dustin, Max, Aldo, Alverez are all decent sized guys, the only think Conor had on em was reach and maybe 1"height.

Thats like saying Jones made a career fighting manlets since he cuts weight, and fights guys shorter and much less reach.
Aldo the same size as Conor?

And yes Jones fought smaller guys, just like Conor.

Deal with it.

Now Holloway & Poirier are making real noise back then they were up and comers scrubs with potential. No it's really not that hard to question his run but I get it build the winz take a safe path then leap.

lol at calling holloway a scrub

That's enough of this.

Let's go back to being friends and talking about Jones

What you miss the whole back then part of up and comers? You right though that's enough of this.

Conor's legacy is at 145. He is 2 - 2 at LW and that was with preferential treatment from the UFC. Split with Nate Diaz including a submission loss, got wasted by Khabib and Conor crushed Alvarez. He also flat out QUIT in 2 of those 4 fights. Very quick tap finishes vs. Nate 1 and Khabib. If Conor has to start fighting a steady diet of top contenders without cutting lines and without avoiding matchup problems, then I think Conor is just another guy at 155. Certainly elite, but probably never a champion again. Probably around #5 +/-.

"Personal" legacy/wealth: building
Fighting legacy: plateaued

Losing to Khabib doesn't take him down all that much, despite how much I'd love to say otherwise. Now if he goes out there and gets one-punched by Olivier Aubin-Mercier then that's a different story.

If Conor wants to actually build a legacy at LW, he needs to improve his TDD, develop at least a rudimentary ground gmae that does not revolve around clinging onto your opponent's gloves and lying on the back all night, get his butt back into the octagon and fight Lee, proving he can take on high level wrestlers. If he beats Lee, then maybe, just maybe, he stands a chance in the rematch against Khabib.

He changed the sport. Brought in more attention, thereby bringing more money.

Fighters pay has/will increase because of him, thereby allowing more people to take up the sport and stay in the sport.

He is up there with Dana White, the Fertitas, Brock and Ronda in terms of importance.

If I’m being honest his legacy will be minimal CTE and a shit ton of money

MMA reputation shattered and on the decline with no hope for redeeming it.

Kardashian level celebrity - probably gonna take off.

It all depends on what happens next. He could
a) retire and enjoy his money
b) try but fail to accomplish anything else worth mentioning like belts, etc but probably put on a few more entertaining bouts
c)make a come back,
Diaz 3->Aldo 2-> Khabib 2-> Lesnar!
Or something like that.

I'd put money on B.

I don't think you know the meaning of legacy that's ↑↑↑ a bio, and has little to do with he's really accomplished in mma that others can look to as fighting achievements & milestones.
2x champ in 2 weight classes in euro org.
2x champ in weight classes in arguably one of the best fighting orgs.
First ever mma Fighter to be on a Forbes list of some sort also first ever to become as wealthy as he is
Etc. I’m sure there’s more and with he’s liquor I’m sure that will also add some stuff to the guys list.

Conor's legacy is secured.

A dominant run through FW that ended with the dethroning of the P4P #1 and all time goat candidate Jose Aldo, he cemented his greatness by becoming the first ever Champ Champ.

Everything after is just gravy.

It seems like for most people it's shattered, for the Mcgregor financial fans it's building because they seem to care about business ventures and not fights
