I see what your saying...but here's the thing.

They are Conor fans. Not MMA fans.

Look at Ronda. How many soccer moms were suddenly UFC fans when she was on her run?

They all left after Ronda left. And these Conor fans will too.

( But not all Conor fans are like this. There are lots of legit ones too, I don't want to lump them all in there )
 
the only way for him to build a legacy now is to grind cerrone style. fight anyone, anywhere, 4 times a year. take some losses but come back and get some great wins.

Whats funny about that ronda thing is there was about a 20% layover that stayed imo. Just on a small sample size of the people i knew. Yes many will bail right away. But some will stay and become us. Lmao

Conor has been exposed...He was always a one dimensional "Average" fighter...Unless you count the Midget Div....Fighting the "Little guys".
 
A man that came from relatively nothing to millions in the bank and at one point and Time having countless fans Hanging on your every word and loving every minute of it, and countless others so riddled with jealousy that they would never accomplish 1/1000 of what he did. Lol got to respect that legacy

I give him more stick than anyone.

However his run at 145 and his wins against Eddie and Diaz 2 will give him a good legacy. However, he will also been known as a fighter that can't overcome adversity.

His legacy is better than the haters suggest.

His legacy is worse than the fan boys suggest.

A very good fighter with some great moments. Not defending a title is a huge black mark against him.
 
As someone who isn't a fan of Conor at all, I have to admit he did help the sport grow and I admire his business accumen and big picture view of his career. What really bothers me is how he did it. The showmanship, the glitz and glamour. The arrogance. He brought attention to the sport from people who are now here as fame fans not fight fans. Martial artists is one of the most sacred things in the world and it really emphasizes respect, honor and grace. Conor disrespected MMA like a hoax and these shallow minded nut huggers came in like tit sucking vultures eating it up. in summary, Fuck Conor McGregor is the only way to put it.
 
As the guy who dethroned Aldo and the first to win two belts.
 
Conor legacy will be as a great entertainer and a helluva striker, but not as a dominant champion. He opened new doors for the UFC and fighters alike and that and his ability to back up his brash talk with action (for a while) will be what he's remembered for.

Oh you know. Winning two championships in cage rage. Running through the FW division. KO'ing the FW GOAT in 13 seconds. Destroying the LW champion with ease. Becoming the biggest star MMA has ever seen. That kind of legacy.
