MSRP of a Camry, Accord or Mustang in 1995 - $14-15k
MSRP of a Camry, Accord or Mustang in 2015 - $21-22k

Here's a list of the average cover price of comic books since 1995 (link)

Average cover price of a comic book in Sep 1995 was $2.59.
Average cover price of a comic book in Sep 2015 was $3.76.

Stuff costs about 50% more than it did twenty years ago.

Also, this is a sign of thinking like an old person. Don't be that typical old person who is constantly bitching about how expensive everything is. Don't be that that grandpa who gives his grandson walking around money, thinking shit costs the same for kids that it cost when you were a kid.

Haha, I try not to be. shit the Tooth fairy brings 10$ a tooth now a days.

but thanks for the link. That and Prod info, it could just be Marvel books that are high right now/

Sup comic nerds...

I may be wrong but I think its $5 for issue 1 (which might be oversized and contain more pages and content). Once the series starts I think the price will be $3.99.

Plus is the All New All Different marvel, Marvels new direction going forward. So, id think they would slap a $5 price tag on these issues

i remember when comics where under 2 dollars

yeah from what I read they really killed off Logan and now made a clone of him with a teen female munat. I know there is more backstory but I dont know it.

glad about the yellow and blue

That's amazing. We have really come a long way in this society towards empowering women.

Personally, I think that all comic book characters should be women. They should all undergo a transition, and then be accepted. If you don't agree with me then you're a racist.

That character has been chick wolverine for 11 years, it's not a new concept

No I get it, and I'm totally onboard.

It's like Wolverine, except she has tits and an ass.

It's an amazing character, and personally I feel empowered on behalf of women everywhere.

Well it certainly would make the creepy nerds obsession on characters slightly less creepy if the characters were female. Need a female Batman next.

Do you feel less guilty being aroused by thinking of wolverine now?

For comic readers, do you buy the physical comic book, or do you get an electronic copy?

Also, are electronic copies generally cheaper? (assuming you don't just outright pirate them)

Answering some questions:

- Don't pirate. The artists and writers don't make much unless it's their own creation. Support and buy the comics, or get the trade paperback which is more affordable.

- Not sure about digital prices, maybe $1 cheaper? I know for Marvel you get digital free if you buy the physical comic.

- Values rarely goes up. Batman New 52 #1 is probably around $75 but I wouldn't buy comics as investment.

The comic rack application is your friend, as well as stuff like utorrent for older issues you can't find. Also, humblebundle.com often has amazing deals on their books bundle tab.

Damn man, dial back the butthurt a bit. They've been doing this shit for years as a quick cash grab. Red Tornado, Deadpool, The Vision, The Human Torch, etc have all been gender swapped at some period throughout the years. Nick Fury, Earth's Green Lantern, Captain Marvel and many more have changed races too.

Comic books are inherently retarded and have jumped the shark a hundred or more times. FFS Superman pretty much did a Goku hitchhike around the galaxy picking up new powers, then he lived in the center of the sun.

The price went from $3 an issue to $4 around the same time that Disney bought Marvel.

And now, they've went up another buck... not a nickel, not a dime, not a quarter, not fifty cents, not seventy five cents, but a whole dollar.

Yup. Definatley inflation.

I found this from last yr.
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/11...verage-price-of-a-top-ten-comic-book-is-4-50/

so there is a little more than just inflation.

But Prod, do they still hold value in the long run?
GSM was being sarcastic, and he clearly nailed it.

*Edit* Well, then DB posted. His source appears more exhaustive and comprehensive. Looks like the increase in pricing is concentrated among the bestsellers.
