Colby Covington is still radio silent

How can you train if you have brain damage? Someone would film him and poof, there goes his case. If anything, he's just doing cardio.

You can train. Just don't do hard sparring. Maybe even exaggerate with headgear and whatever padding he wants to use, in case someone does actually film him,. Though I think he trains in relative solitude with his team. Don't think he is in a public gym. Could be wrong about that though. He could himself even document all the changes he has made to the training and use it in his case.

He likely doesn’t get much cash from Masvidal, which leads me to think maybe he legit has some damage

No communication from him whatsoever, no interviews or anything.
Are people really that dumb that they dont understand the process of having an active court case? You cant be that stupid.

Well with all the following posters it seems there really are a lot of retards who dont get the concept.

He follows his laywers advice and that is the best thing to do there. Sorry no drama for shertards.
To use that to attack him really is beyond idiotic. Some of the comments oh my.

He's a babbling vegetable. His life is NOT SO GODDARD now.

I dunno, I think if the judge sees a video of him sparring and grappling and whatnot, the case is getting dismissed. Because if he's basically doing all the things he was doing before anyway, where's the damage?

He's probably cut his training significantly.

I've made a case for this in the past.
1. Colby's a small town kid who had a relatively sheltered upbringing.
2. He has s (allegedly) had a target on his back for quite some time; and knowing that Jorge is a 'street guy' with 'street guy friends,' he may end up (and reasonably so) somewhat traumatized.
Edit: And there might be a case to sue for PTSD although that'd probably be the end of his career.

That's gonna be hard to prove anyway considering that he's a professional cage fighter.

I'm guessing it's not a schtick, just his personality turned up to 11.

Personally afraid? Absolutely not; but if he gets exposed by one of these up and comers, then his aura of near invincibility would be gone.
Once that goes, he'll lose his mystique a la Conor who was no longer clever just talking sh-t which didn't really land after getting KO'd by Poirier the first time.

He doesn't really have that aura though . He's far too hated and in too many decisions with critique of lack of power, to suggest he is near invincible. He is also not a HW, who naturally speak more towards the invincibility idea of people, because of the real life implications of no weight classes.

You didn't read the thread or even the OP.

People get that there's an active court case. They don't get why he'd put his career on hold to pursue this court case.

Id be willing to bet someone 100 dollars that Colby's next fight will be against a lightweight. The guy is done at welterweight atleast for the time being. He and his fanbase want nothing to do with the contenders at welterweight.

Yeah, you should go easy on grappling too. But you can say you had to do everything impeded and extra safe and slow and ineffective. Thereby decreasing the quality of your training and decreasing the quality of performance you can deliver, which could impact his ability to earn a living. And ask for compensation for that. But also argue for a decrease in the general quality of every day life. Argue all the ways you can imagine it would impact your life, as long as you can make it believable.

But do most of your real training behind closed doors with people who you trust

Not saying he will win his case though. I don't know what his legal game plan is. It also will really depend on who the judge will be and what Jorge's legal team's plan will be. This is Colby vs Masvidal 3; in the legal arena, after the first one in the octagon, and the sequel in da streets. Also, what are the Floridan laws are around this? Will it be a bench trial? So not knowing all that and more, I really can't have a strong judgement on the likelihood of him winning.

His case against Masvidal just so happened to occur at the perfect time for him to sit out and avoid the top contenders. I don't believe it. Like everything else with Colby, take it with a grain of salt. The dude is full of crap.

I love your take on this. It's like he got hit with a dose of street reality that he's never been exposed to in his life. I'm sure he is traumatized.

He's waiting for Masvidal to fight again. Then he's going to run our from the back with a steel chair.

His fan base which isn't huge and may be full of trolls would argue differently.

That said, I absolutely agree 100% with you!

I argued this exact potential outcome back when there every other thread was about the incident.

There's no way that he can make that argument and continue his career, though.

Nah, I am a fan and I know he is far from unbeatable. The more hated the fighter, the more assumptions about the fanbase are made based on emotion, rather than on reason.

You don't seem like a troll, though.
You know the guys that I'm talking about.

That said, I was super impressed by him the second time he fought Usman.
It was one of the first times he looked like he was fighting for a finish.
That's a guy I'd tune in to watch.

He’s in a legal matter. He’s not going to be talking. Plus, the law is more important than a UFC career so unless he wants to drop the case, he’s not gonna be saying much right now.

And no fucking way Jorge has $100M. Absolutely zero chance. Not even remotely close.
