I tried to give Trump as much of a chance that I could - given some of his worse rhetoric in this campaign so far, but it is clear now that he hasn't got it in him to be president and that the Republicans have royally fucked up. After Clinton wins this (as I had thought from day 1) they are gonna have to do some serious house cleaning, soul searching and undertake many other changes if they ever want to be taken seriously again.

I am reading stories of a sitting Republican Congressman endorsing Hillary and the GOP seriously considering dumping Trump in what I AFAIK hasn't been done before and Mitt Romney thinking of endorsing Gary Johnson. Insane.

I heard you the first time.

definitely need a third party that is more centrist that can take support both from current democrats and economic conservatives that aren't bible thumpers / birthers / climate change deniers / radical islam is the only issue in society group.

The current GOP has jumped the shark and has become irrelevant. The far right here / Breitbard fans are essentially children in adults bodies and will never win.

The strategy of winning your party base then moderating to attract the centrists has become so extreme that centrists are left with options they despise; hence the gross unfavorable rankings of our candidates. It is time for a major third party that will result in political ingenuity instead of this pandering system in place now.

If the Democrat candidade would have been decent this would have been a no contest.

RCP average from 29 July-today has Hillary +7. Convention bump should be over with, and I expect her to level off here for a bit, maybe drop a little.

I'm curious about the Trump supporters that are left.

If they replaced Trump with a baboon, would they still vote the for the baboon?

A better question is would they notice?

If the opposition was still >Insert democrat, but especially Hillary Clinton here< then they sure would.

"Yeah he throws shit and ripped that reporters face off, but at least he is honest about it. Did you know that Hilarry......"

The baboon takes Montana and Mississippi.

Lol what about the polls showing that a minimum of 25% of bernie supporters will not vote for her. Based off what I have seen in California and Nevada, I'd be inclined to say it's closer to 50% of them that won't vote.

Thus she just lost the youth vote. In nevada, where I intentionally registered, the Latinos are anti-trump but they're also largely bernie or bust.

What's the world coming to when winning 1% of the black vote and .000003% of Latinos ain't good enough to be president? A fella can eat only so much taco salad and have only so many black friends.

Perhaps he should refer to them as taco bowls and super predators...

that doesnt even matter. What are they gonna do- vote for Trump? They can all stay home and Hillary still coasts to victory.

At this point, I am wondering how Trump shills can even fake optimism for a victory. Incredibly enough, this forum still has a ton of supporters who insist he can win lmao.

Reuters changed polling methodology:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-07-30/clinton-lead-over-trump-surges-after-reuters-tweaks-poll

Here is the real reason for the methodology change: according to Reuters "the inclusion of the word “Neither” is capturing Soft Trump supporters who, if given such an option, prefer not to make a choice. Here it is important to note that the soft supporter phenomenon also affects Clinton, but to a much lesser degree."

As a result, the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll - pre Friday evening - had Trump 40.2%, Clinton 38.5%, but, on a "pro forma" basis, eliminating "Neither" from the "Neither/Other" answer produced a different result. In that case, Clinton was ahead, 40% to 36%.

In other words, the real reason for the "tweak" was to push Hillary back in the lead simply due to a change in the question phrasing methodology.

With the first new poll under the new polling "approach" due to be released last night, we predicted that it would show a dramtic rebound for Hillary, just as Trump was picking up steam, and in doing so changing the entire frontrunner narrative from the ground up.

Sure enough, here are the results of the "revised" poll released on Friday night.

From Reuters:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton held a 6- percentage-point lead over Republican rival Donald Trump, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll with new wording that was released on Friday, the day after she formally accepted her party's nomination for the Nov. 8 election.

Don't do this to yourself. Same stuff happened in 2012. They even built a website then too. Kept saying media was oversampling Dems.

The result? Romney lost, and a whole bunch of professionals looked stupid, or had a melt down.

Don't deny the evidence, find a way to move those polls.

Trumpster bunker mentality is off the charts these days. Everything is rigged, everyone is against them.

two stories that i read today. one was that republicans by mid september are planning to run ads separating themselves from trump. explicitly saying they dont want anything to do with him. whenever trump makes an appearance most republicans will stay away and not do an appearance. the other story is that trump is not spending(or planning) almost no money for ads. 6 million compared to hillary spending 64 million.

It's hilarious that people are trying to spin the polls as rigged, yet they can't spin the change in favorability which tracks the change in the polls.
