Cleaned out division and retired on top as Champ = GSP = GOAT

For me GSP is the greatest fighter of all time and the best MMA wrestler of all time.

I have jones at 2 if he comes back and gets back the belt and the clears the divison then yeah he will probably end up being goat but right now he is at number 2 imo
Silva fell off hard after he tested for steroids. Fedor never fought in the UFC and had that terrible strikeforce run.

GSP
Jones
Fedor
Aldo
Silva

Thats a great list man. Anderson also fell for me. He was #1 for me for a long time but the roid issue is such a huge turnoff.

*looks at GSP's record* 25W - 2L, yep...just like I thought.

The problem was Hendricks was only at 70%, if I remember correctly...if he was at 71% it would of been a different story.

71% Hendricks is GOAT

Hendricks fans are so retarded. He won two rounds of that fight and they were the most emphatic however GSP won three. Now if they want to address how fights are scored there is a solid argument behind that (and they'd also have to cede that Hendricks lost both fights to Lawler), but this "Hendricks was robbed" nonsense was old two years ago.

Nothing about that win says gift. When a gift decision happens there is discrepancy, like for example the media scoring differing greatly from the official scoring.

None of that happened in Jones vs Gustafson. All the official judges scored it for Jones and 13/14 of the major MMA media sites scored it for Jones. It was close but Jones won by all accounts.

There can certainly be unanimous robberies (Machida vs. Rua 1 comes to mind). If you followed the forums at the time, you know plenty of viewers were unconvinced that Jones had won.

100% of media scorers gave it to Rua over Machida.
93% of media scorers gave it to Bones over Gus.

When the fans are frothing the media consensus is by far the best indication of a neutral take on the fight.

Green Gus was great that night - unlike Bones he had never experienced a 5-round fight nor did he have the experience necessary to handle all the extra media/promo/hype shenanigans that go with being a contender, and yet he still managed to beat the champ up enough to send him to hospital - but all said and done Bones legit won the scrap.

It wasn't roids, it was tainted Cialis.

Leave Anderson alone!

If we polled the actual fighters instead of Internet fans, it would be a landslide for Fedor. Maybe a couple of votes for JJ and Silva.

Which poll wouldn't Fedor lose? Maybe a Canadian or French one? Perhaps USA too. I know Brazilian fans know who the real GOAT is.

And you can also say he should of lost to Koscheck and should have never gotten his title shot to begin with.

LOL at that book.

Got GSP as GOAT also.

The Hughes and Serra losses hold little to no water as he came back and smashed them, including one of them twice.

He fought all of the legit top contenders in his defenses.

Yeah, that "truth" shit again. Hurts your feelings, right?

Hurt my feelings that you are blind to the truth. GSP stated back even before the Nick Diaz fight that he was going to retire soon. Before the hendricks fight even happened we knew it would be his last fight win or lose

So yeah "Yawn this shit again"

I gave it to GSP too, but it's worth noting that not one single media scorer gave the fight to Georges. 16/16 gave it 48-47 to Hendricks.

Not only that, fan consensus is more than 2:1 that Hendricks won, and you have to factor in that GSP fans are far more rabid than Hendricks fans, so if anything a poll like that is going to have bias toward Georges.

For what it's worth, I mostly agree with you: I gave Hendricks two rounds but thought the last was too close to call. Still, even if it were a draw, that would be a win for the champ.

Can't finish opponents and should have lost to Hendricks...GOAT my ass.

As a GSP fan, reading these threads that try to discredit him is just fucking laughable.

Keep it up though kids, maybe something'll stick.

GSP did not clean out the division.

Nick Diaz got a title shot when there were far better contenders available and who were actually on win streaks.

There's really no such thing as cleaning out a division anyway. It's a stupid phrase. I could always point to someone who hasn't yet gotten a title shot, on a win streak, and who I could make a strong case for. In GSP's case he definitely did not clean out anything, there were plenty of guys around.

I have Fedor, Anderson and most likely Jones, if he returns to reclaim his belt, ahead of him.

#4 all time is still pretty decent
