Blaydes is a very capable HW. Capable of beating anyone in the division. However, he does seem to be a little chinny in a division full of heavy hitters. 50/50 fight with Gane IMO. But we know Gane won’t fight anyone except for the belt next.

Jones wants Stipe, 205 goat vs heavy weight goat. I firmly believe he wants that fight and views it as a good matchup for him, its just Stipe is making the ufc wait.

Blaydes is definitely the worst matchup in the division for Gane. Gane can outstrike any HW on the planet. But an elite wrestler like Blaydes would likely create some problems for him. Gane could still pull off the W as he has elite footwork and would not be easy to get down, but if Francis was able to wrestlefuck Gane for a couple rounds... I tend to think that Blaydes could as well.

I don't disagree but how many more top contenders do you think Blaydes has to beat to justify another shot at Francis? (Assuming Francis still has the belt.)

Easy to say "Francis finished him twice!" which is technically true but the first fight was Blaydes's UFC debut and it was a between-rounds doctor's stoppage, not a vicious KO.

Like I said I'm not ready for the trilogy but I think probably 2 more wins against top contenders would get Blaydes there.
