Canelo's last legit risk to his career was the second GGG fight. We all knew he was going to win his other fights. Bivol was a free pass fight because if he lost he could always go back to his belts at super middle and his fans would excuse the loss for being at light heavy. Regardless of what people say, Caleb, Callum, BJS, Charlo, Munguia, etc. All those fights were very low risk.
While I am sure Canelo can beat Crawford, if he loses that fight, that's pretty much it for Canelo being the so called "Face of boxing" because he would be losing to a smaller man, also in the p4p list and no excuses could be made like with bivol. Sure there would be a rematch and more Canelo fights but Crawford would instantly become the biggest name in the sport (next to Usyk) but being from the US he would be one of the top sellers.
Canelo would have to get paid more than ever for this fight, it's one of those no-win situations if he KO's Crawford, he beats a smaller man if he wins a close decision, he sucks for not being able to stop a smaller man if he loses, he was never that good.
I am excited for this one, in Vegas no less (it seems?) bout time we had a big fight like this.
