Elections Canadian Federal Election 2019 Thread

I really don't like the liberals and have no confidence in their leadership, but the one thing they have right, IMO, is the carbon tax. It's actually kind of strange to see the Conservatives, who never missed an opportunity to browbeat about economics, argue against it.

First thing Based Conservatives did when they won back Alberta this summer was drop the carbon tax as promised. Gas prices went down like 20 cents overnight.

Remember when legal pot was supposed to save the economy? Nothing changed. Where the fuck is all that money going?

I wonder if Trudeaus SNC lavalin corruption results will affect the results of the vote. The left are such ideologues they are willing to vote the idiot in again despite corruption and incompetence.

It will effect nothing. You see the spin in this thread already. 'We vote for the party, not the man'. Even though when the election was happening it was all about Trudeau, Trudeau, Trudeau...

As a rank and file Albertan my vote belongs to the Conservatives. They’re the only party that has a platform that would benefit the interests of my province whatsoever. The NDP or Greens would be a complete fucking disaster for Alberta.

As for Bernier, he and the PPC can suck cocks in Hell if they cause enough right wing vote splitting to make a difference in the outcome of the election (ie causing what could have been a CPC minority to be a liberal minority instead).

You dont think the cons have a shot at a majority?

They might. I’ll be utterly shocked if the cons don’t completely sweep Alberta and Saskatchewan (with the possible exception of NDP Linda Duncan in old strathcona @Prokofievian ) but I’m concerned about how they’ll do in Ontario after a year of Doug Ford’s bungling.

shit that commercial is atrocious. {<jordan}{<jordan}<{MingNope}>
Watching any Canadian TV during the leadup to that election was heinous. That commercial was on twice a break sometimes.

Well the Doug Ford voters I know don't seem that put off yet, but I don't know how he's affecting the people who didn't vote for him. I think you're going to see a lot of people in Ontario go to the polls who maybe didn't vote in the provincial, but I also feel Canadians are good at separating the two levels when marking their ballot. I don't think the anti-Trudeau furvor is as bad as the Conservatives would like to think, but his sheen is definitely smudged. If he could have kept his nose out of SNC and been more deliberate with some of his messages, he could have just talked about the economy and the environment, but now he's in this room.

Seems like things are pointing to some change in the makeup of government. Barring some vote splitting shenanigannery it should be a liberal minority government.

I honestly think that disasterous ad by Harper's campaign did about half Trudeau's work for him.

Lmao I remember that ad. Conservatives are total goofs when it comes down to any kind of creative work.

Trudeau undermined the election and is setting the system up so the liberals never lose again.

Conservative ridings will be flooded with liberal voters and the largest gun grab in Canadian history will begin.

Should be interesting to see how they plan on getting the over 1 million semi autos that aren't registered.

Expect there to be more gang shootings that will spread out further than the GTA.

If that’s legit wtf , I’m not saying that’s fake I just can’t see someone being that stupid.. mind you I am talking about Trudeau

Im hoping for a trudeau majority, but will probably be a trudeau minority govt.

A minority is a majority because the dips will prop up the liberals.

The gun ban and confiscation is coming.
That’s a scary scenario but I can see that happening if the libs get a minority government. I think at worse it’s a conservative minority.

The media manipulates the people with liberal bias and with all the immigrants pouring into Conservative ridings, there won't be enough people to vote Conservative to beat all the liberal voters in the riding. Add in liberal peer pressure and the dumb sheep fall in line. Liberal ridings are permanent.

Canada is a one party system.

There's plenty of Conservative support, almost the same as the liberals .
