Elections Canadian Federal Election 2019 Thread

Are you that guy who periodically pops back up here after he gets banned and thinks that guns are a major issue in this election?

Yea, further restrictions on already highly restricted semi automatics and handguns. We've been over this, nobody outside your circle of nerds cares.

My biggest issues are Healthcare, immigration, the housing market and ecomnomic opportunity, especially in my downtrodden province.

I'm leaning Bernier.
You're a maritimer right?

What's Mad Max's popularity like out there?

While I agree with everything you stated, I have to go with who aligns with my values most closely. Rightly or wrongly I abstained from voting for many years because of that same reasoning.

Every party has to start somewhere and I want to help them get off the ground. If everyone worried about splitting the vote, nothing would ever change. I do believe they will have 338 candidates in short order.

This is not their election to win but they can make an impact for the future.
I thought this way before as well when I threw my support behind Preston Manning and the Reform party, which essentially gave the liberals over a decade of power.

The PPC would be lucky to gain one seat and the seat projections are disheartening.

The PPC still don't have 338 candidates for every riding and the media has branded them alt right and racist. They failed miserably in the by elections.

They are only going to split the Conservative and give Trudeau the life line he needs.
Not if they focus in Quebec and the Maritimes. There's no conservative vote to steal there, so it would just be potentially stealing votes from the liberals.

@Prokofievian @Not A Theist
I'm glad you agree this isn't a problem with spending or the health care system per se. There simply aren't enough doctors. How to encourage more to enter the profession, I have no idea, but it's clear demand far out paces supply.

I think the financial incentives are already there so it will be interesting to see if anyone can offer a solution that works.

Overall, I still think voting Liberal this time around is better than the alternatives, but only because it's the lesser of evils.
There aren't enough doctors because they go south to get rich quick. I've lost two family doctors that way.

“We do not tell members how to vote, but I will be speaking out against the Conservative Party,” said Dias, acclaimed to a third and final three-year term as Unifor’s president at its national convention in Quebec City Tuesday.

Horseshit. Unions have no problem trying to tell their members how to vote.

Yeah liberal governments have worked out great for Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit...

What the fuck was a mayor gonna do when whole industries up and left town? This line gets thrown around all the time and its a total crock of shit. The rust belt is the result of federal policies. Dont worry well just tell the rubes it was the democrats and they will meme that shit out for years

Canadian political scene is in a bad place when a pompous goofball like Trudeau actually has a chance at re-election. It is tragic enough that he was even elected in the first place.

Yup those liberal governments in Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Houston, LA, Seattle NY, Boston, DC, San Fransisco, Austin and those other liberal governments in large metro area's are responsible for about 70% of America's GDP so I think its working out ok.

But for Bumfu*k Pennslyvania:

Right wingers say you're supposed to cry mighty tears of sadness
<DCrying>
HMMMMMMMM I wonder why?

Yeah. I am good with that. Assault weapons? Imo those arent needed. Just end up getting stolen or most likely sold to people who want to commit crimes.

Rifles and shotguns are fine, even hand guns arent needed.

Yeah I guess if you don't value human life. Which you clearly don't.

I am a maritimer yeah. It's hard to gauge what his popularity actually is. NB has a pretty old population that tends to stay tied to the party. It does however seem that people in my age group, that actually pay any attention to politics, are intrigued by him.
