Can anyone point to the fights I should watch which show Cereal Gone has the skillset to beat Aspinall definitively?

BowserJr is deliberately misspelling "TL;DR" to try to sound cool because he thinks "fuck" is a cool word.
It’s a coping mechanism and a way deflecting hiding the fact that he doesn’t know how to read & comprehend paragraphs, his idea of conversations on MMA consist of short sentences & gifs, mainly off impulsive emotional posting.

Not picking Gane, but below is what I said in another thread. I think he's the most interesting opponent, followed by Almeida. If Almeida hadn't been KO'd by Blaydes of all people, I'd say he was the biggest challenge.

Gane is interesting for a few reasons
  • He's never been KO'd
  • He's probably the most technical, fluid striker that Tom has faced. Volkov would be the second most technical striker on Tom's resume, but that fight ended in R1 with a submission
  • Tom has never gone more than 2 rounds so it's possible Gane could test his cardio and ability to win a long, tough fight
With that said, it's quite possible Tom can take down Gane just like Ngannou (who's a mediocre grappler but very big/strong like Tom). He could either finish him on the ground or turn D1 like Francis did.

He doesn’t know how to read paragraphs and has hard time comprehending how people actually can communicate with more than a sentence, pretty uneducated with some form of dyslexia with a hint of ADHD, his idea of posting on this Karate Forum in all his years relies on short sentences and gifs.

This post seems to imply there's no middle ground between one sentence quips or gifs...and the War and Peace length novels that Luffy writes almost every time he posts.

And unlike many, I actually LIKE Luffy. He's a lunatic and thinks he understands the sport FAR better than he does, but he's also harmless and obviously passionate about it.

Tommy Asperger's is already making up ring rust excuses so expect him to be sluggish and get leg kicked to a point where he spams weak takedowns and ends up being smashed until a ref saves him.

You should bet your entire $26 life savings on Gane then. You'll have over $100 if your fantasy scenario comes true!

It’s all good, it’s all the same to me. Everyone here does one sentence quips & gifs ,we all do it. When you’re trying to convey some points in a topic that can only be elaborated with “war and peace length novels” should the person you’re having conversation with reply with a “TL,DR”? especially if it’s relevant to said topic.

I wasnt talking about Luffy in my post, I was referring to the person he/she replied to.

I know you were talking about the person replying to Luffy. My point was that these thesis length posts by Luffy are his M.O. It's essentially nonstop. Maybe you're not aware (which is obviously fine). I'm saying--to Luffy specifically if someone replies with a TL/DR (or the equivalent)...it's kind of understandable.

I clarified that I like Luffy to stress that I'm not saying it explicitly to shit on him. I'll engage him at times even when he eclipses the word count in Stephen King's IT in one post and try to have a real discussion. But I also can understand if someone looks at it (whether it's correctly broken into digestible paragraphs or not) and think "What the actual f*ck?"

Did you watch the Aspinall-Blaydes fight where Aspinall’s ligaments couldn’t even support his own body?

Gane might just have to survive a round or two.

I know everyone hates on Gane and thinks he sucks...

His striking is some of the most technical we've seen at HW. He has reach, he uses it well. I mean who wants to stand with Ngannou, he was handily winning the exchanges.

The only real knock on Gane striking wise is he's somewhat passive. He has the ability and skills to be a KO machine, but his style is counter to that.

His ground game is atrocious.

His ground game is atrocious and when was that 2 years ago? Trust me the guy got better, he'll prove it in this fight with Aspinall.

He may be getting better but then again so is Aspinall.

In my quarter century of grappling, I've never seen someone go from lost on the ground to competing at the highest level. Especially people that started late.

What Gane CAN work heavily on is his TDD and creating scrambles to get back to his feet.

Aspinall is a fantastic grappler but I don't know how truly strong his takedown game is in the grand scope of things.
That's sometimes the fatal flaw of BJJ guys.

My money is definitely on Aspinall but it'd be a mistake to count Gane out. Aspinall has a an aggressive style and Gane is a counter striker. 75-25 in my mind.

Did you see the Jones fight, where Tom falling over would still be an effective takedown?

I wouldn't say it's raw speculation. Aspinall visibly suffered from an adrenaline dump against Arlovski after trying and failing to get him out of there early. From that point on the striking exchanges became a bit too competitive for my liking as a fan of Tom, though to his credit he was able to transition to his grappling.

It's not exactly unheard of for explosive early finishers to struggle when fights go deep. That doesn't mean Tom can't do it, but saying that it's an area where Tom is untested that Ciryl should try to exploit isn't crazy IMO.
I agree its the one thing you can point to as a hopeful weakness I'm just saying we have no idea if it is or not. Its speculation

watch the Jones fight and you got the answer that there is no way for Gane to beat Tom
