Californians

My roommates told me no blackouts so far, we're downtown in the Hensley neighborhood.

I've been at valley medical since Thursday. I was making lunch on Wed round 1130 and had a seizure, which happens to me every few months but the way I fell on my right leg I ended up both dislocating and breaking a bone in my ankle. Also broke my fibula in the lower right leg. Never dislocated or broke anything before. The x-rays are awful.

They had to relocate the ankle bone once on Thursday and 4 times yesterday because it kept slipping out of place. Super unstable. They had to do surgery to drill screws and bars to my leg to keep that foot in place till the swelling goes down. Then they will do another procedure.

I was awake for those resets and have never endured pain like that. Sucked like a mofo. They gave me 2 pops of morphine, a pop of fentanyl and I was still screaming and passed out during the the 1st relocation on Thursday. Yesterday they loaded me up with Dilated an oxy and it still didn't help at all.

Did that nightmare 5 times, words don't really tell what it was/is like. Hospital staff is really awesome and has kicked ass... Definitely kicked my ass that's for sure.

Here's a pic from yesterday in the middle of one of the resets. This Dr was pretty badass she didn't hold back at all. See how the two ends of my lower right leg are tied and being pulled in two different directions? They were doing live x-rays during this.
So yeah good times.

Welp, my stomach hurts now.
Best of luck to ya.

The lightning caused the fires but I do believe that we over protect the forest which leads to a much danger fire. We want to keep stuff quiet and beautiful which creates a more dangerous fire

What do you propose, mowing the wilderness? Many of the areas are too steep to get to. They grow fast in years with enough rain and dry out in drought years.

I think we could make fire breaks right now in a lot of areas. Turn those fire breaks into public dirt roads(fenced off on both sides) to keep stuff from growing back. You would have to pick and choose where to do it. Government land vs private land.

Also it would allow the Cal fire access to the fires more easily

This is proactive and a very good idea imo.

We know the fires will keep up and that things are going to keep getting dryer for the foreseeable future.

Your idea should be the mainstream position imo. American Indians and First Nations had a system like that set up going back over a thousand years.

Noticed a difference here in the last few hours. Not going out to swim today, real tickle in my throat.

Do you just attribute everything that happens, which you consider bad, to some nefarious liberal plot?

In 2008 there was a major fire in Paradise. It led to a massive traffic jam. There was a grand jury investigation. The grand jury deemed the Skyway to narrow and should be widened wherever it could be.

The town under liberal leadership removed two lanes! The town could only accept California money if it reduced lanes. They literally said the intent was to get people out of their cars.

California imposed the road diet at the behest of the United Nations.

85 people died, and tens of thousands have PTSD because of liberal bullshit. Road diets fuck drivers. By design. It literally is a global ploy.

Duck duck it

Could you post sources for all this? I’m not doubting your story, would just like to see it all for myself.

I would like to see a source on that. Also, why was it liberal leadership? The area where Paradise is located is very rural, and very conservative. Butte county voted for Trump. So I would guess their local leadership is also conservatives, moron.

Also, there have been studies that show widening roads to add lanes actually increases traffic because it encourages people to take those roads more often. I don’t know how those studies were conducted, just that they exist. So there may have been a logical explanation for why they wanted to do that. Both LA and Sacramento have removed lanes from major streets to add bike lanes so people would be encouraged to ride more than drive. It has worked well. No increase in traffic.

Not that any of this is relevant. I simply said California, and everywhere else in the US, could use some public works programs to improve infrastructure, which is crumbling everywhere. Your response was “Ebfurbensi thjtiisdn fucking liberals narrowed roads fhfghurje in one tiny town...”

You obviously are someone who goes looking to blame liberals for every thing that happens that you perceive as being bad. I mean, clearly. I don’t even know why I’m having this discussion with what is likely just a Russian troll.

I don't think I've even been to Palo Alto. No one would think I've been here for 3.5 years, apart from vacations I haven't really spent a great deal of time out of SJ and Campbell.

You have not been to University Ave for a meal, or visited the campus?

Ummm, you should take the trip.

I wonder if it would be viable to set up a pump to a mister or essentially oversized shower head over a pool to take particulate out of the air? That wood be kewl.

You’d definitely have to manage pH because ashy compounds are acidic, but there are all kinds of systems to manage ph automatically.

I work right next to a quarry too, my air quality was pretty bad without everything being on fire, lol.
