This seems like the same exact thread as the last Cain megathread. Always turns into a contest of who hates philes more. I think we can all agree they're the worst and move on.

Cains issues are due to basically firing a gun into what equates to a crowd multiple times, hitting the wrong person. Him wishing he had hit the alleged phile doesn't absolve him of that. Not sure why this is so controversial.

It is very hard to get a gun here. Also, you don’t need it to protect your family because nobody is threatenig your family since, you guessed it, other people don’t have guns either. Maybe I just live in a somewhat safe country?
But you sort of missed the point. He could have murdered that guy on the street with his bare hands without getting involved in a car chase shooting.

The accusations is that the man has looked at and/or touched the boys penis in an inappropriate way.
Accusations because he hasn't even been to trial.
The man says that his mother (the owner of the child care center) has asked him to help the boy in the bathroom a few times since the boy was peeing all over the floor.
No other children at the center, past or present, has ever accused him of anything. He has no record of any crime and the police has found no child porn pics or videos in his possessions. That would be quite unusual for a real in his 40's.

This does sound like something that could have happened. Too many kids that age (wasn't the child 3 at the time?) make messes in the bathroom and still have trouble cleaning themselves in spite of potty training. Somehow I wonder if it was all a big misunderstanding.

Understanding life's nuances, no matter how difficult, is essential to comprehending the whole picture. It really seems hard to grasp for many here.

Many are verbalizing that those who think Cain should have consequences are supporting philes, which is exactly the simple-minded perspective I am talking about. It's more complicated than that. Cain made choices that endangered a community, and for that he should suffer some consequences.

No one seems to be considering Cain's children either. What happens when a parent puts themselves in prison for a long time like Cain? He may end up actually doing something to his own kid that is worse than what the phile did- remove himself from his child's life by going to prison. Not only remove himself in general, but he won't be there to support his child after the child was victimized.

That goes for everyone saying they would kill the - congrats, you just did something worse than the to your kid- you removed yourself from his life for good.

Oh, you are absolutely right about the fact that society both legally and ideologically takes the protection of children as a priority. However, I also think that it is unfair to people who decided or didn't get to be parents to be lesser in the eyes of the law or morality. The person Cain got shot is someone's child. He is not a kid, but him getting shot by someone on a revenge spree should not hinge on the shooter being a parent or not. If the person who got shot was a kid, which he well could have been, since Cain did not discriminate in shooting onto a car, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

Again, I understand that parents empathize with the protection of children. But this ought not to be a metric to judge a person either morally or legally. It simply explains their motivations.
