Burger King makes political ad. Backfires.

Consider the prevention of male homosexuals from donating blood due to higher risk of disease. That is logical but is also viewed as discriminatory in the social sphere.

That's a good analogy. Not sure many people are complaining about it.

Pretty sure you get tested before you can give blood so in that analgoy it really wouldnt matter

ladies be spending like crazy on makeup and nail polish and manicures and pedicures and hair products and lipstick and blush and eye shadow and eye brow stuff and eye lash stuff and toe rings and ankle bracelets.

That's assuming screening works 100% of the time. At the end of the day it's a risk calculation. Can't say I know the ins and outs of it though.

But say there is a slight increase in the risk of contaminated blood entering the supply. At some point the risk elevation, even if minimal, would be considered not worth the risk. Where that line is drawn is a judgement call. For some, a small increase in risk is worth it for other social reasons (especially LGBT activists). For others, it isn't.

Regardless, even if purely driven by statistics, social/political elements are in play with something like that.

Well I agree with it, unless it's some type of catastrophe, then it's either infusion or die.

Yeah, I don't have much tolerance when it comes to risk of contaminating the blood supply. So I don't oppose it in principal. I support a proper risk analysis absent of any political shenanigans.

This sounds dangerously close to a meritocracy type of idea and entirely lacking feeling based decision making. I'm not sure if this makes you abelist or fascist or scientistist or what, but, reported for triggering.

Well, some say logic is a tool of the oppressive patriarchy, you know.

Just google 'logic is oppressive' and you will get all sorts of feminist articles to learn all about it.. hah

I just had a chuckle at the thought of political ideology aimed at women (feminism) going to lengths to have emotion take precedence over reason. They know their target demographic.

Lol. True enough. 1st rule of effective communication - know your audience.

My girl started using my razors and shaving cream and said they both work and feel better. Problem solved.

Women buy more shit, and more expensive shit in general. That drives prices up. Men will just buy whatever the least expensive thing is, driving prices down.

Now let's talk about car insurance, where men have to pay like an extra $1K a year more.

It’s got nothing to with buying more or more expensive shit, it’s that man give less of a shit about brands and are more price sensitive ergo carving back more of the producer surplus into consumer surplus.

But agreed that the pink tax is easily avoidable, but it’s also a self inflicted wound. Women can just buy the men’s version.

Whats funny, is that if you made all these women's brands bargain bin shit, they'd be turned off and go for the more expensive stuff.

It's not about tax, ladies. It's about taste.

Perfume vs calogne, I am not even sure if I can even spell the word, I am def not paying high end perfume prices for it.

I don’t take it as liberals gone made or anything like this. They were trying for some political jig that would cross over well to their products that would be generally inoffensive. NN fit that well, this was a big swing and miss.

I'm no marketing genius, but on it's face the ad seems counter productive and confusing. It wouldn't surprise me if the message went over a lot of peoples' heads, and all they were left with was wondering if Burger King actually sold "Chick Fries".

I think maybe they got lucky with the NN ad, and got a little cocky playing politics. Time to get back to basics, Burger King. You're here to sell us grease burgers. Stick to that.
