It's only just begun, but Burger King's latest weird social commentary style ad is bombing hard with ~250 likes and ~6000 dislikes so far.

How badly this commercial will be panned is yet to be seen but Burger King really seems to have put their foot in their mouth with this poorly researched ad.

Obviously Burger King was hoping to follow up on the success of their Net Neutrality themed ad which did far better with 127k likes to just 10k dislikes so far.

The question is will they dick tuck like Audi did and take the ad down or will they stick to their poorly informed guns and go down with the ship?

Interested to see what posters here think of the ad and how they feel about politics creeping into advertising in general.

Pathetic. Marketing works that way across the board. I mean, how much do people pay for an Apple logo? You CHOOSE what you buy.

Maybe if women didn't shop so much and spend men's money...

What a completely unnecessary fuck up. Thanks for weighing in on gender equality, via the price of chicken fingers. Burger King's stance on this matter was keeping me up at night.

Oh' my god. I can almost guarantee they've hired or promoted some uber feminist as a head of advertising, and this was her first big project. Let's see, the ad doesn't promote the brand, the product, or the staff, and instead promotes some political agenda. Yep, definitely the work of some feminist SJW who is completely detached from reality.

Well maybe the pink tax applies to certain situations. I'd pay more for pink pussy than grey pussy for instance.

The pink tax is very real. Im glad BK took a stand against all the incels and right wing women haters

Shoeonhead did a pretty entertaining video about the pink tax a while back.

I just told a few different stock feeds to SELL BK. Or Restaurant Brands International. Or Carroll's. The serpent goes by many names.

Quick question: is pink tax a real, verifiable thing? Or is it like the wage gap?
Women buy more shit, and more expensive shit in general. That drives prices up. Men will just buy whatever the least expensive thing is, driving prices down.

Now let's talk about car insurance, where men have to pay like an extra $1K a year more.

Why wouldn't you just buy a razor for man?

Also, of course, it is not the woman that pays this pink tax. Its the man she is leaching off.

I find it hard to believe that the heads of companies across all sectors are sitting saying “we hate women so let’s charge them more”. It’s seems very much a case of like you said you charge what people are willing to pay, and for women that is higher.

Regarding car insurance though these companies are right to charge men more. We cause more accidents, we are more likely to speed and attempt to drive like Michael Schumacher. Just like how young drivers get discriminated against vs older drivers. They are only covering their own backs.

Precisely, we get higher rates because men, in general, are more dangerous drivers. It's still technically discrimination based on sex, which is the end of all evils in today's world. But the media is selectively choosing to only get angry when it happens to one side, but not the other.

Like anybody in burger king uses hygiene products to know if there's a difference. Now they'd have a point if women paid more for having teh diabeetus.

The political part of it doesn't offend me, I liked the net neutrality commercial. But if they're going to do something like this, they need to understand the argument and have their facts straight before pulling this virtue signaling nonsense. Anything related to politics shouldn't reek of artificiality.

I like it better when BK treated them like whores!

PS Is that a young Hillary Clinton???

Anything related to politics shouldn't reek of artificiality.

What you got against CNN??? Not every news outlet has to rely on facts, ffs!

That's funny, I've never been anywhere, ever, where a girl had to pay more for something than I did, or had to pay when I didn't.

I have, however, in the city, found myself at multiple doors with a group on a Friday or Saturday night out, usually before midnight, in a position where I had to pay a $20+ "cover" fee to just to get in while the girls walked through for free.

So I find the commercial odd.
