News Bryan Battle released from the UFC

I mean it's somewhat understandable but they need to be consistent. If Battle is getting cut for this, Gastelum should have been cut. Khabib should have been on very thin ice. Oliveira in his 145lb days should have been cut etc..
A little bit different circumstances dont you think? Khabib had no reason to be on thin ice, because he was actually hospitalized & confirmed by the UFC staff, Gastelum missed weigh which they did tell him to move up, i don’t seem to remember Gastelum missing weight at 185? Correct me if I’m wrong. And most of those were weight misses were close to a decade now, except Gastelum recent fumble against Rodriguez, Gastelum will probably be cut soon to be honest, It seems the UFC is not putting up with the unprofessionalism this go around.
Gastelum missed weight 2x, once by 9lbs, cheated one time just to make 185... He also no showed at the weigh ins for the Cerrone fight, didn't show up and own up to it, didn't attempt a catchweight... He just ran away and hid then posted a message about it on twitter.
Gastelum is going to be cut in the next few fights Im thinking. Especially if he missed weight again.

The UFC wasnt invested in Battle, hence why they released him, the UFC has favorites and if they see value in a fighter, they will give a bit of extra rope.

Going on Ariel Hawani's show and smirking about it, certainly didn't help his cause. Grow up, dude.
Oh man, i didn't hear anything about that. Yeah, Dana seems to take attitude about incidents much worse than the incidents themselves a lot of the time

I just said he smirked. He apologized to his employers but that doesn't change the fact that he's unprofessional in his fight preparation. His explanation was that he used to be able to make weight no problem and seemed taken by surprised that it wasn't easy like it used to be, except this isn't the first time he's missed weight, so the explanation falls flat. He wasn't sick and wasn't hurting; he's just not taking fight preparation seriously.
I thought i heard him say he did get sick

Yeah missing weight by 4lbs back2back is the wrong to do it
You have to miss weight once by 7.5lbs like Khamzat, then you get the privilege of no repercussions
It's funny, people are bringing up the similarity to Rumble, who missed weight when he moved up to MW. The fight didn't happen because Battle was 190. Vitor fight Rumble who was 197! ELEVEN pounds over the allowable limit. Guy was coming up from WW and was closer to making LHW than MW

Not surprised, he missed weight many times in UFC and doesn't even seem sorry about it, he has a bad attitude.

It's a shame as he was a talented fighter. He just couldn't put everything together. Hopefully be straightens out

He did miss weight at 185 but held on to his trainer's shoulder, same sort of trick as the DC towel grab. No showing for the Cerrone fight was pretty terrible, having the Silva Fight cancelled due to smoking weed etc.. Kind of strange he was never cut after all that.

it was pretty much unprecedented, to be forced up a weight class and then miss again, by a lot. inexcusable really, i mean like find another profession if you can't cut weight, at any weight.

Totally precedented sir.

Anthony Rumble Johnson precedented the shit out of this precise exact scenario. Same weight classes and everything.

Had to happen. Guy clearly needs to sort himself out professionally. I imagine they'd welcome him back if he gets the weight in order and ends up running through a few guys.

PFL time for this dude.

He is a good fighter but please do not compare him with Rumble.
