News Bryan Battle released from the UFC

I wanna say this mirrors exactly what happened to Anthony Johnson iirc

He missed weight at 170, then missed weight massively after moving up to fight vitor belfort.

And was cut.

So, all is not lost for Bryan. Sometimes you need a wake up call.

Probably wins a couple on the regionals and comes back within a year.

Agreed, but that really depends on Battle sorting his shit out while on very little pay.

It's a very good lesson indeed.

There's so many layup jokes for this one.

Dude had that talk the talk walk the wall kind of attitude. seemed like a real tough talk guy that got the W's. I was. Looking forward to seeing him getting humbled just wish it was in the octagon and not on the scale.

Like i didn't not like him. But he's the type that acts to clean after a W. Wanted to see him get beat up a little.

I watched the clip and no he didn't. Not the way that poster is making it out. He was very upfront saying he fucked up and expected to be released. Said if the UFC was gracious and gave him another chance he would be grateful but he felt he isn't entitled to any sort of kindness. Said he would go back to the regional circuit and fight to prove he can get this weight management under control and show he can make weight.

He just didn't cry and beg for forgiveness.
I just said he smirked. He apologized to his employers but that doesn't change the fact that he's unprofessional in his fight preparation. His explanation was that he used to be able to make weight no problem and seemed taken by surprised that it wasn't easy like it used to be, except this isn't the first time he's missed weight, so the explanation falls flat. He wasn't sick and wasn't hurting; he's just not taking fight preparation seriously.

The guy used to weigh 300 pounds; he obviously has an unhealthy relationship with food.

In any event, he was very flippant about missing weight by 4 pounds in his last fight...and here we are again, missing by 4 pounds in a higher division.

Yeah missing weight by 4lbs back2back is the wrong to do it
You have to miss weight once by 7.5lbs like Khamzat, then you get the privilege of no repercussions

Not all hope is lost. There was another fighter with a very similar story. Maybe we will see a super jacked Battle come back and fight at LHW, knock out everyone, and ultimately get out wrestled by the champion, twice.
