News Bryan Battle released from the UFC

Haanji UFC making the correct decision 👍🏾 Battle bhai better to try slap-dangal. Strong waist leads to strong thappad ji 🩴💥

In the end MMA not for everyone buddy 🦬🥛Waheguru give everyone a different gift 💝✨ Sat Sri Akal 🙏🏽

I just said he smirked. He apologized to his employers but that doesn't change the fact that he's unprofessional in his fight preparation. His explanation was that he used to be able to make weight no problem and seemed taken by surprised that it wasn't easy like it used to be, except this isn't the first time he's missed weight, so the explanation falls flat. He wasn't sick and wasn't hurting; he's just not taking fight preparation seriously.
Fair Enough

This guy clearly belongs at 205. He looks like an aids patient draining himself so much.

Let him take a couple of tuneups in LFA and bring him back.

You cant miss in 3 of 6 fights, twice in a row in two different divs and not expect to get cut.

Maybe if you were a big name you could survive it but not these days. Even with a good record in UFC and on a win streak he's still middle of the div guy coming up so he's expendable.

Go win a few, make weight, do the right things and he can be back or you just say fuck it and take a PFL offer and try to win a tournament over there. Theres no guarantee UFC takes you back in a year and fighting for shit regional money isnt fun.

You guys comparing him to rumble are brutal lol battle is an un athletic bum compared to Rumble and won’t end up being half the fighter, hell he’s not even a gastelum 😂

Undisciplined, or just plain bad at cutting.
Likely a healthy dose of both.
Bubye

He is a good fighter, but not great. Still young enough to figure out how to be a professional. He has some tools that I think if he matures more and figures out the professional stuff that he might crack the top 10 at some point. At least at his ceiling I think he could get a ranking at mw in ufc. But get professional and prove himself and dominate some fights and then maybe the ufc calls him.

Good riddance. He was an obnoxious blowhard who swore at the crowd that paid good money to see him fight, and then can't make weight two fights in a row, and in two different weight classes. Don't come back.

Good

Acted like a dick and unprofessional

This is normal, it happens every day in the workforce. When people don’t do their job, they can canned.

I mean it's somewhat understandable but they need to be consistent. If Battle is getting cut for this, Gastelum should have been cut. Khabib should have been on very thin ice. Oliveira in his 145lb days should have been cut etc..

Gastelum missed weight 2x, once by 9lbs, cheated one time just to make 185... He also no showed at the weigh ins for the Cerrone fight, didn't show up and own up to it, didn't attempt a catchweight... He just ran away and hid then posted a message about it on twitter.

Your examples are from 10 years ago, standards change. Also, Oliveira at least moved up in weight which naturally is going to extend his chances with management.

Battle wasn't even close to making weight either. He was 190. Going from WW to MW and still missing weight gets you cut. If we're using examples from previous eras, that is what happened to Rumble Johnson.
