Bryan Battle signs with PFL after recent UFC release

At one time UFC had a HW above 199lbs, MW 170-199lbs, LW up to 170lbs by having these 3 weight classes guys will be more at their natural weights and it's simply better than what we have in place now where guys must put way more focus on trying to sweat off pounds.
i would add 143 weight class them smaller fighters, but those classes actually sounds pretty solid. Weight cutting is part of the sport and it’s not going anywhere, the problem is fighters are not taking their fighting “career” serious, This is why sometimes i believe fighter pay is app relative to certain fighters, you got fighters like Battle, Gastelum etc who can’t even make weight & then you got fighters like Pereira who in his short UFC career has been consistent, mine you he comes from a country where cutting weight is not culture, compared to the americans. i don’t believe weight classes is the problem, i believe fighters are just not discipline enough.

Gastelum and Johnny Hendricks is a good example as well these guys are 5'9 but they are in fact big dudes, the problem is that they really are 185ers in Gastelum's case most of his opponents at 185 are bigger because they are usually much taller by about 5 inches however they can cut about 30 or even 40lbs of weight, in reality someone like Gastelum is facing what are lhw's and in some cases hw's. Hendricks similar problem back in say the early 2000's late 90's he would have been recognized as a legit mw but was more than likely being told you're too small and need to be down at 170lb and I think for him that was too much and I don't blame him.

Again weight cutting is bullshit imo, UFC has way too much of a boxing influence 5 minute rounds, 10 point must system of scoring, too many weight classes and weight cutting, too much fake drama to build hype to interest the retarded American fan base.

You seem to be blithering quite a few random and totally unrelated points here.

Well one of the main reasons Battle was cut was not making weight, so I think pointing out the absurd amount of weight cutting due to having so many weight classes is pretty on topic and not unrelated.

Hm? Less weight classes means people fight guys way bigger than them all the time. The size differences in older UFC were much bigger than today.

I dont know what you mean by Peireira comes from a country where cutting weight is not part of their culture. Brazilians have countless fighters that cut weight and a rich history in sports that have weight classes in grappling, striking, and hybrid sports. If anything their culture is quite famous or infamous for doing anything it takes to get ahead in sports.

Are you trying to say that because they do not have scholastic wrestling they do not have weight cutting culture?

I believe this reply is towards Royce Greasey

i don’t know about that, i seem to remember Brazilians struggling with weight cuts, until some of them linked up with Dolce. I’m sure they’ve cut weight before, but not in the way Americans do.

No, i’m saying Brazilians were not the greatest at cutting weight in comparable to the American fighters who got it down to a science.

I’m not saying that they do it on purpose, but it’s literally part of their job. Train for your fight and show up on the weight you’ve contractually agreed to.

I’ll never not blame the fighter for missing weight, if they’re too injured to make weight don’t fight.
It's a good thing no one has ever messed up at their job before. Like, I'm sure Battle is well aware he fucked up lol.
