What are you doing to me, @HHJ? First the Goldie thread, now the Buffer thread. Are you going to keep making threads asking about my least favorite peripheral people in UFC history? What's next, an Eddie Bravo thread?

I've hated Buffer for as long as I've been watching the UFC. 20 years ago, when my friends and I would watch PPVs in high school, I'd mute the TV every time Buffer started doing the introductions. My friends would always crack up, they couldn't believe I hated him that much, but the second I hear his voice I have to shut him the fuck up. Add to that his dreadful personality and I'd honestly rather listen to Goldberg for 24 hours straight than listen to Buffer for 24 seconds.

Buffer should've stayed behind-the-scenes and off the mic as his brother's manager. And the UFC should've kept Rich "The G-Man" Goins.

I didn't even start watching until a few years into the Zuffa era. The SEG era was already a thing of the past when my fandom started. But do I love the SEG era?

It won't feel like UFC without him. We're kind of lucky we've had the same guys around the sport. Dana, Joe, Buffer. Hell even the refs are pretty similar. How can you hate Buffer? Dude has brought it 99.9% of the time, I can't even remember any major gaffs he's done.

Whomever cometh to replace the Buffer must defeat him in the octagon. That should set precedent going forward. All new announcers must fight for the position.

Buffer sucks.
