I don't HATE him, but I don't care too much for him anymore. I think it would be fine if he toned it down a few notches. The screaming, getting face to face with fighters, fist bumping them, dragging everything out longer than it needs to be, etc. His voice is fine and iconic but he's over the top too often for me.

Only Siths train in absolutes the issue is greed. You could have James Brown return from the grave and announce a one off. Human nature just won’t let us have some good one offs we always have to have it all or nothing. Bruce should be used 50 50 but greed means they would cut his check or hire someone cheaper. So basically due to human nature leave Bruce alone until he tries to jump again. Call him Brucie No Hop

Re-watched one of the early UFC events not long ago, might have been Bruce Buffer's first UFC gig? He sure sounded different, nowhere near as confident or interesting as now, so he has come a long way with his "thing". I think Martinez does a good job, and there is room for both.

He aint got the greatest voice by a long shot, but he makes up for it with unbridled enthusiasm and character !

The man LOVE his job. When other guys his age phone it in, this one cant get wait to get up there and exhort the crowd to CRAVE the bloodshed to come and whip them into a murderous frenzy !

It is similar to the Goldberg situation, in that, you COULD get a more talented professional, but in this case, UFC has no personal problems with the buffman and have a great working relationship with him.

I don't think Bruce is great by any means but he's not the worst.

I dont have any issue at all with Michael Buffer. His voice is thunderous. I dont recall how he did in WcW but in boxing he was usually fantastic. He is a classic announcer type, like Jimmy Lennon Jr.

Bruce is runnin a different game. He's all about passion over prestige. It's like he's one of us. He knows what we're here for. He wants it just as bad as we do.

These other guys might love their job, but they are composed and stand with poise and grace
