Too bad I was looking forward to seeing this fight, however great opportunity of a lifetime for Moicano. Rank only 10 and gets the shot at the title, although short notice.
What mma fans don’t appreciate is how damn hard it is to consistently win, almost regardless of opposition. If Islam beats Moicano that’s 15 wins in a row. I don’t care how good you are, even beating 15 average UFC LWs in a row is no easy task. The sad thing is, I agree with them in a way. But, it's not Islam's fault. His title defenses aren't top tier, but I think he COULD be winning even if he was fighting game LW contenders. I think he's that good. But there have been a lot of funky circumstances around his reign so far. It honestly sucks pretty bad for him, because I do think he's probably the best LW we've seen.
Tbh I think Arman will still get the next shot. There aren’t a whole lot of options for Islam at LW, and moving up right now is tricky given the Belal situation.I dont think they just give him the shot again. He may not ever make it to final boss Islam before Islam moves up or retires. He may have missed his chance right here.

What is pathetic about it? Tell us you fake flash in the pan fan. Tell is why a professional fighter being injured makes it pathetic on the Fighter.Yup. Rumors swirling on X that he's out of the fight.
Absolutely pathetic of Arman if so.
There is no backup fighter either.
Can you imagine being moicano? You've studied one dude for months and then all of a sudden you have to fight someone else? And he's way better than your original opponent?
Great opportunity but holy shit.
I think it's more likely that he hurt his back training a few days ago, maybe a week... And they were waiting to see if it would get better by fight night.Rumors of an easy weight cut were likely greatly exaggerated, even if the back injury is real. The most likely way for him to have injured his back so suddenly despite not doing anything that would risk a back injury or be reported is that he passed out suddenly and fell.
HahahaThis was the surprise move Arman was talking about all week.
Pathetic
This is very true. There are a million factors that come into play in a fight and the lead up to it, being able to deal with those and still win is part of what makes the greats so special. What mma fans don’t appreciate is how damn hard it is to consistently win, almost regardless of opposition. If Islam beats Moicano that’s 15 wins in a row. I don’t care how good you are, even beating 15 average UFC LWs in a row is no easy task.
Indeed. It's why I always laugh when people bring up Brock as if he was some all time great because he became champ in a few fights....What mma fans don’t appreciate is how damn hard it is to consistently win, almost regardless of opposition. If Islam beats Moicano that’s 15 wins in a row. I don’t care how good you are, even beating 15 average UFC LWs in a row is no easy task.
I think if that happened they'd just go with that story. Besides, he was making public appearances without any rumors of his seeming less than 100%. All the rumors were actually about how good he looked. A back injury painful enough to cause a fight cancellation is most likely going to result in at least some stiffness and awkwardness that people will notice and word would get around, even if it weren't enough to make people realize that the fight might be off.I think it's more likely that he hurt his back training a few days ago, maybe a week... And they were waiting to see if it would get better by fight night.
Every day he wakes up, stretches, tests it out, and it still hurts. Finally today they had to admit it's not gotten any better and he can't fight in that condition.
