Both Charlie Olives and Islam are Overrated Mega Thread

Conor beats Charlie Olives next year and takes the belt.

Well...

I literally said I was impressed him dummy. Still overrated though.

No you didnt...
You said "I am impressed that he didn’t fold like he usually does."
Being impressed that he did not fold like he usually does (when was that actually? 9 straight wins and 8 finishes... ) is not being impressed by him..

100% agree. A bunch of posters are on here spiking the football, but Chandler was a question mark. He didn’t show enough in the 2 mins he was in there with Hooker. All of a sudden beating Michael Chandler means Olives isn’t overrated? I don’t buy it.
I picked Oliveira because I said he was the fighter lankier fighter and younger. Less attrition. Chandler at 35 was a bad move coming over. If he came at 29,30 he'd be on a better position to win a title. I said Charles was going to outclass him on the feet and on the ground. He had more ways to win the fight. Kinda happen that way, it was only 50-50 fight for him because of Oliveira's lack of head movement.

But these guys can't be the best two lightweights in the world. It was razor thin margins. I'll be surprised if Charles can defend the belt more than once. I anticipate him losing his first title defense.

Low IQ comment. Persevering through adversity is a positive trait, when someone says they’re impressed a fighter persevered, it’s a compliment. Sounds like you need to learn remedial English.

Agreed, based on yesterday I think both Poirier and Conor KO Olives. His striking defense was shit.

Charles is 31 and in his prime and has not lost a fight in almost 4 years. I think he is going to go on a nice run. I think Chandler was the toughest stylistic match for him in the division

I don't think Dustin, Conor, or Justin would have gotten out of Charles having his hooks in early in the first round. Chandler is super physically strong that allowed him to survive.

You didnt say it was a compliment goof ball, so stop acting like you did. LOL. It was a 'back handed compliment' at best. Just eat your crow and move on with your life dweeb.

You still don’t get it; Olives is overrated. That’s still true. He’s not really a legit champ until he defends and proves it, that’s also true. The only one bringing Khabib into this is YOU. Khabib living rent free in your head lmao. This has nothing to do with Khabib, Olives is overrated right now, ESPECIALLY today from the looks of some of these thread titles.
Lol idk how he's living rent free. He'a one of the greatest to ever fight in mma, how could he not be lauded and admired?

You're using khabib as a goal post to compare to Oliviera. You with your miniscule hamster brain would say that about anyone that won the LW belt.

You have literally no proof he's overrated until we see him defend the belt.

And you still don't get it. I doubt you ever will behind your keyboard in your mothers basement drinking monster energy drinks and ufc tattoos.

He just beat 3 top 10 guys. He ain’t overrated

The only take away I can make from last night is Charles Oliveira is a bonafied top 5 LW now. That's my only takeaway. He belongs there. Is he the elite of the elite? No but I think with last night's win, his win over Kevin lee(I'm ignoring the tony win) and his string of wins, he's a top 5.

Other than that, I can't really take too much away from the fight. I cheered for olives, glad he won but I'm not going to start pretending he's the best lw in the world. If khabib was here, this fight would have been a fight to determine who fights the number 2 contender for the number 1 contender spot.
