Both Charlie Olives and Islam are Overrated Mega Thread

Who is really rating him high? Most of us think Gaethje or Poirier will beat him.

Islam has fought no one till he actually fights legit guys he's not even in the picture.

Charles looked great and showed he can recover and comeback and finish a dangerous guy and has fought his way to the title and recognition he is getting.

Justin is really not a threat outside of catching him early.

Dustin is the only guy right now who could beat him even then I see charles taking him down and subbing him.

the guy has put in work... if anyone was over rated at LW its chandler. Everyone gets lucky sometimes. masvidal had his run, and chandler did too. they both ran into real ones and got stopped.

I'd still favor poirier over anyone at LW though.
 
This thread might look like it's aged terribly @moosaev

but I'll throw in that caveat and plays devil advocate.

After initially saying Chandler would beat Charles, I changed my mind when I looked at more tape but it remains to see just how good Charles Oliveira is. Lets see how he matches up with the dustins, the justins and yes, even conor.

I bet on Oliveira tonight but that doesn’t mean he’s not overrated. He’s the 4th best guy in the division and he almost got finished by a guy who had 5 losses in Bellator.

Don’t get me wrong, Charles has made huge improvements and he’s a very dangerous fighter, but there’s still no reason to think he’s on the same level as Dustin, Justin, or Conor.

Haven’t eaten any of it. I still think Olives is overrated. Nothing he did proved otherwise. I am impressed that he didn’t fold like he usually does.

I don’t think it aged terribly at all actually. The only point I was making is that Olives record was overrated and that he doesn’t deserve a title shot. Let’s be honest, him and Chandler were gifted the title shot last night. If you look at Olives resume before last night, and some of his recent performances (Lee fight) his quality was overrated on these forums. I stand by that statement. What I retract is my position that he’s a quitter. For now I’ll stop calling him that.
