Bo Nickal is a fighter. You are not*.

It's because of his fake confidence. I watched the dumbass 'ask UFC fighters how 100 men would do vs. a gorilla.'. And he's like 'I think two of me could get the job done.'

Nice to see this corny guy get put in his place and reconsider his standing.

That being said I hope he comes back stronger.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it is "fake confidence". The guy was a high level wrestler in college. I just think he has never been challenged in this life the way de Ridder challenge him last night, and he wasn't up to the challenge in that moment. It's one loss: with the right mindset he can bounce back from that.

Have you ever been up against a guy, at any point in your life in any sport, that was just a level up on you in every way? It is a humbling experience to have especially if you are a reasonably talented kid/man yourself and have a lot of pride. If you are smart you learn from it and, ideally you have this happen to you as a young lad.

You take your licks as a lad so you can make your bones as a man.

Yea I had a few amateur boxing fights when I was younger and thought I could never lose a fight. Tyler Calderano kept connecting with the right cross again and again. I'm positive that I'd whoop his ass today though.

I don't need to be a fighter to laugh at someone who's been talking out their ass. You want to talk big? Go to it, it's a free country. But that means you're going to lose big too and thats the risk you take talking a big game you haven't proven.

He reminds me of Downey jr. in the movie Tropic Thunder 'I'm just a guy pretending to be a guy disguised as a guy'. Something along those lines.

Wrestler pretending to be a fighter.

And he can win a lot of fights like that.

But when push comes to shove, he ain't got that dog in him.
Some guys can walk thru pain, bite down on the mouthpiece, see who has more toughness and trade damage. Bo ain't that guy.

The problem is the closer you get to the top you need to check that box. Skills will take you very far, but even GSP had that "hit him with your groin" gut check moment. Those top 10 top 5 guys aren't just gonna go away.
Then you need that warrior mentality.

Bo took a knee or two that didn't feel good and he wanted out.

A loss doesn't make him less of a fighter than he was a week ago. He just needs to come back stronger the next time. He's far from done if he doesn't want to be done.

He's not a fighter. He's a competitor. When I think of fighters, I think of people with a killer instinct that is willing to die in there. This is not Bo Nickal. Even in interviews, he talks about how he's excited to compete. This is a shit mentality in a cage fight.

I think it was more him being exposed. I don't really give 2 shits about the guy but full force knees to the ribs aren't a joke.

Looks to me like de Ridder would beat Bo and an average sherdogger in pretty similar fashion.

I am having fun seeing Bo's wake up call. He is still a public figure to some extent - ridicule is fair game.

But also remember; you are a forum poster. Not a fighter.

Very few people can be, or will be a fighter of any kind.

Some of you need wake up calls.

* There are some fighters on the forum - your opinion is much greater in the context.
No one is gonna send you an autograph. Kissing ass makes you look worse.

<DisgustingHHH> meh fight was stopped way early as Bo had him where he wanted him. He was about to bait him into sub.. Bo was playing 4d chess ref couldn't keep up. <seedat>.

OP you're trying to bring sense in a place where you're dealing with idiots.

They just merely exist on this planet to complain. As an example: Bo Nickal. They complain daily that the sport isn't developing new potential stars and prodigies. They also complain that those that show some talent have a lack of personality and aren't able to sell their image.

Then you got Bo who has both talent and a mouth that garners attention and once again, they complain.

It's never good enough. These are losers.

For sure.

I'm not sure he was exposed all that bad though. Not a lot of guys are going to physically be able to execute what RDR did. That Dutch kickboxing powerful knee to the body is not in everyone's tool set.

I felt like last night showed RDR is ready for the top more so than it was all that informative about Bo. It would have been HUGE for Bo if he passed that test, but RDR is like 20-2 and has held belts in a top ish org.

This was a shot for Bo to prove he was ready for a "speed run" like Alex.Pereira and the result is NO he is not, he can resume his "work his way up slowly"

RDR is ready to try and swim with the sharks and I am looking forward to it.

Tyler Calderano. Was his dad a jock who married a Mexican lady?

they've been waiting to hate on him forever and now it's spilling over.

then again, i can understand it to a point. remember the way i felt after conor / nate 1.
I feel like the UFC and media were hyping him up, as was he. Yet when he kept getting small steps up he was doing worse and worse against fighters he should smash quickly. That and he seemed to mentally break in the first then gave up in the second.
