People have said dumber things to draw a crowd, good on him forcing people to talk about him.
Khamzat would own him in a wrestling aspect during a fight also
Its like people never saw Aljo&Merab vs Cejudo,Jones vs DC,Evans vs Davis etc
There's nothing so far that showed me Bo has some fearsome wrestling in fights like Khamzat does
? Bo has one loss?
Khamzat shot for 17 takedowns and kept DDP down and controlled 22'ish minutes of the fight.
He had trouble against short notice Usman with good wrestling and went the distance over 3 rounds.
Now, what happens when he fights someone with Nickal's pedigree who has just seen that he doesn't need to entertain us mouthbreathers and can instead focus on wrestling?
What does Khamzat look like defending against takedowns for 25 minutes?
Like I said, Styles make fights.
We know Chimaev has fantastic wrestling with decent striking that is usually reliant on the fear of the takedown, so why not see what happens when you stick him in there with another fighter with mediocre striking and stellar wrestling.
MW is deeeep
Would like to adress above match ups further but general point was that less credentiald (english ain't my first language but i think you understand what i mean) can get the better of more credentiald wrestler in a MMA fight winch isnt sth new of course, and thats Khamzat's game, aggressive wrestling and even though he obviously wasnt in the US to compete to have Bo's D1 results,he learned all he knows in russia winch he used to dominate Swedish scene and to this day he gets to train with the very best in the world winch is why i am confident he can outwrestle Bo in a fight.Cejudo came up from 125lbs and was both undersized and old. I don't know we can use that example.
Jones was a JuCo national champion (just like DC) and a standout cadet. He unequivocally was a Division I talent but had terrible grades and didn't qualify academically. He then gets his girlfriend pregnant after winning a national championship and leaves wrestling to earn a living in MMA. Had he made grades or completed JuCo, he would have been a Division I All American.
Rashad was a Division I wrestler that was one match shy of All American. He was a stud athlete and wrestler and in a really competitive division. Davis was twice an All American and a National Champion, but its not like we are even comparing two different levels of competition - you have "good" and "great" wrestlers meeting in MMA. All of the other skills and experience favored Rashad.
I do not think Khamzat would 'own' Bo in the wrestling aspect of an MMA fight. I think Khamzat would struggle immensely to take him down, and likely gas out doing it. What would happen is Khamzat initiates wrestling and then wrecks Bo in the transitions while he's defending, because Khamzat is the much better MMA fighter and Bo's striking and reactions look like shit.
When he was fighting jabroni's (most of his total experience) he was casually murdering these guys. He took RDR down just because he felt like it after easily shucking off RDR's offensive wrestling. Bo can wrestle. He's mid to terrible at everything else.
Khamzat and Bo will never fight because Bo isn't good enough to earn that type of booking, anyhow. We never see this fight.
Indeed!Fatsulem would actually be a great test and fun fight. Big Kev is a solid wrestler, thick and hits like a truck. Not to mention he's a dog when it gets ugly.
