Blanchfield's striking has improved significantly

She looks slow as molasses and has next to zero explosiveness or pop behind her shots, but she has a great chin, volume, variety of strikes, determination and good grappling.

She still has a ways to go with her striking and wrestling set ups, though. I hope she keeps improving
Not sure what her resources are like in Jersey; but da BX and BK both are known for having multiple excellent boxing gyms.

Thing was, if this was a three rounder, she would have lost very clearly. Normally, it would have been, and we'd be having a very different conversation about Rose right now.

But it doesn't change the fact thar Rose is just wasting her time at FW. She has no lethality there.

Or blanchfield wouldn't have wasted as much time contenting herself to have a long range kickboxing match with rose for 2 rounds. This match up was always scheduled for 5 rounds. we have no idea how they would have fought differently in a 3 rounder.

Her striking was as shit as ever. It just worked better after 2.5 rounds when Rose slowed down because then she could bully her.
We're talking about the same fighter who knocked out both Joanna and Weili, right? You aren't shit if you hold your own against her. Blanchfield has clearly improved.

Rose KOd JJ 7 years ago, and Zhang 3 years ago, both at SW.

And not to knock those KOs, as they were good, but Joanna struggled with a weight cut. Zhang she just caught perfectly. It's not like Rose is some KO artist. Those two KOs are her only KOs in her career, which is sort of incredible when you think about it. Can't KO anyone but can KO those two of all people in a round each haha.

But now she's in a higher weight class, older, and her cardio isn't as good as it was. She looked way better against Zhang and JJ in the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds back then than she did against Ribas, Tracey, and Erin more recently.

Rose's whole issue has always been with girls who can put the pace on her. Up until the 2nd Carla fight, all her losses were like that. Erin was always going to make the most of that weakness. It was less about Erin improving her striking and just being a bully once Rose started to tire after 2.5 rounds like she always does.

She wouldn't have had a choice. Rose's footwork is way too good for someone like Erin to get on the inside. Once 2.5 rounds is up though, Rose gets way worse in this area.

Also, why the heck was this fight even 5 rounds? This wasn't for some interim belt, and it wasn't a title eliminator, unless they're thinking of having Manon leapfrogged by two girls who UDd both these girls back to back in her last two fights.

Rose also decisioned both of them in addition to knocking them out. If Blanchfield had shit striking she should have been torn apart in this fight. She didn't shoot a single takedown in the first round. Clearly she's been working on her striking.

TBH she kinda reminds me of Pena. slow, sloppy striking, takes shots till she brute forces a take down and smothers for a while.

she's 25, she has a lot of time. a lot of upside.
Pena never has looked like this outside of the few seconds where Nunes faded for some reason and crumbled to pressure. Blanchfield did it the entire fight against an elite striker

Rose decisioned both of them, yeh, but even in those fights she looked slower towards the end. In the JJ fight it started to cost her a little. Rose won the first 3 rounds with ease against JJ, but then 4 and 5 was when JJ started having success.

Hard for Erin to shoot tds in the first round with Rose's level of footwork. Erin is too slow for that.

Perhaps, I just see them as bulldog who can bully fights on the ground. but yes, I'll concede that erin has improved a bit and she's 25 so she has upside. pena, Stuck in her shit striking ways. But Pena is a Nail like no other female, ever which will win her many fights and may see her beat kayla.

LMAO those fights are literally the highlights of her entire career. Stop making excuses. You're backing yourself into a corner here. So Rose sucks yeah? She was "slow" in the best performances of her career, so that must mean Joanna and Weili were never that good.

Stawp it. You're killing me here.

Erin looked a lot better than Pena ever has. Pena just overwhelmed with pressure. Erin was matching Rose blow for blow while being slightly outstruck.

The fuck? Brother, I never said Rose sucks or JJ and Zhang were never that good. Where are you getting that nonsense from? The three of them are some of my fav WMMA fighters ever.

I didn't say she was simply slow either, I just said that she slows around 2.5 if she gets pushed hard, going back to my point that she normally slows down around that mark in all her fights.

She lost to Andrade once because of it, and it led to a split in their rematch. Carla and KK both beat her for that reason as well.

I would say she looked more comfortable striking this time. She was getting beat back by Fiorot's strikes and her clinches shrugged off but she never backed down. She went almost the entire 25 exclusively striking this time, against another superior striker and looked much more comfortable trading with Rose. Part of that is probably due to Rose's lack of power. Hard for me to say if there's been any real strides gained in Erin's striking but she's now accumulated 50 minutes of cage time with 2 of the best strikers in the division and that will be invaluable. I'm still expecting great things from her. I think she's cut out for this and I hope she can keep sharpening things up.

{<huh}

You were literally just arguing she was slow in those fights, her opponents had a bad weight cut, who the fuck knows, etc. Whatever bullshit you're coming up with doesn't matter. The fact is she beat both of them twice. That was prime Rose in those fights. That's her entire legacy. And Erin Blanchfield stood toe to toe with her. Rose tears apart inferior strikers who try to stand with her. She couldn't do that to Blanchfield. It's a very clear sign of Blanchfield's improved standup.

"slow" is not the same as "slowed". Erin, for example is slow the entire fight; Rose has slowed by 2-2.5 rounds. If you can't understand this, then I don't know what to tell you lol.

I never said any of them were bad. You made this up.

And yeh, that was prime Rose back in those fights against JJ and Zhang. I never said it wasn't. I literally said Rose is older now and her cardio isn't as good, etc. Erin did not stand toe to toe with Rose from 7 and 3 years ago at SW, did she?

Seriously, are you trolling? Or is your reading comprehension just shit-tier or something?
