If you have seen BLADE RUNNER 2049, how would you rate it?

Right, but I am pretty sure that the records were faked, there never was a copy. That was a ploy to hide her and pass her off as a boy in that orphanage.
I think seeding an army of relicants with the memories of their savior is a good way to create a diversion or recruit them to your cause. They somehow got Ana a job working as a memory maker for the one guy who's hell bent on finding and dissect her. They must have done that for a reason.
I don't know, I need to see it again.

It seems like a plot home IMHO. Wallace gutted a replicant for much less. Not sure why he wouldn't mangle a dream maker/catcher. Curious if K was something more then they let on. If there were twins? It may explain for memories.

I disagree. I think the visuals were great but the budget was retarded given the previous movies numbers. It did not sell well then and this is struggling too. The trailer was kind of shit. Yes, the visuals are great but nobody has a clue whats going on and the movie leaves us with more questions then answers.

After watching it twice, the only question I have that I feel like really NEEDS an answer is how K got Ana's memories.

Other than that, I'm fine with some things being left open-ended.

The calling card of the movie is ambiguity which I am fine with. I am still speculating that the memories were not her's. That was not a girl going down those stairs.

I think if that were the case, it would've been revealed in this film, because a sequel was obviously not guaranteed.

I don't think they'd leave such a huge plot point unspoken.

Can anyone tell me why the rebel droids wanted Gosling to murk Deckard? I dont see how that would help anything

I ordered Blade Runner in 4k (UK Special Edition). It's supposed to be an amazing transfer and I can't wait to watch it again now with 2049 in mind. I've only seen the Final Cut once and really enjoyed it.

I actually love that Ridley thinks Deckard is a replicant while the writers think he's human. I think the idea of two replicants being able to reproduce is more interesting than a human and a replicant being able to reproduce. If just for that fact that OF COURSE humans are going to fuck replicants but if replicants don't need humans, that's intriguing.

That said, I think Rachael just happens to be a one-off that Tyrell made which can reproduce and she just happened to fall in love with Deckard. I don't think Deckard is anything special in that sense. To me, Deckard is human but shows signs of being a replicant and that's what makes the question so fun to naw on. It's something that should never be truly answered. It's like explaining why Michael Meyers is after Laurie Strode. You don't need an answer and explaining it ruins everything.

My understanding was that they were worried that Wallace would coerce Deckard into leading Wallace to Ana. I don't think anyone realized that Deckard really didn't know where Ana was.

I don't think they knew Deckard's story completely. To them, he's just a murdering Blade Runner. They knew Wallace was after Deckard and he would be probably be tortured and eventually lead them to the girl. K was ordered to kill Deckard to protect the girl.

Anyone have any thoughts on the bee scene? It was cool but really odd. Why where there so many bees and what were they pollinating?

K reaching under the door and pulling out a handful of bees just didn't seem to have any relevance to the story. Am I missing something?

Agreed, it is either fishy or just sloppy.

I think it was her, they "dressed her in blue" to pass her off as a boy. Somebody else could have planted her memories in replicants, though. Ana is supposedly not the only supplier.

Radiation related experiments? Didn't they used to say bees would survive a nuclear war, back when we were going to all die in a war with Russia?

No idea what they were pollinating, but one theory I heard was that K was checking to see if the honey had been harvested. He reached in and found no honey, so it confirmed that someone must be around.

Just found a clip of Denis narrating the scene. According to him, this is the first living creature that K has ever seen and is fascinated by it.

As sickc0d3r mentioned, bees survived. They are feeding on something in this area.

GOATsling is really becoming one of my favorite actors. Ford is a legend.

I really liked it. Lot of people saying slow but I didn't think it dragged at all. There are some movies barely over 100 minutes where I feel the running time to the extent that I'm checking my phone to see what time it is multiple times throughout. Blade Runner had me engrossed and went by briskly, even while taking the time to let scenes flesh out.

Additionally, it wasn't that long. Really only 2 hr 35 minutes when you take out the credits.

Loved the visuals and the overall vibe of the movie. It definitely felt like a worthy successor to the original film. I haven't seen the Ridley Scott movie in a long time, but this one, quite frankly, may have been superior.

I've got an overly cliche, hamfisted theory on the bees. It's because he wants to be stung and feel pain so he can feel what it's like to truly be human

<{natewhut}>

That seems more than likely.

I understand the beef about the lengthy runtime, but for me the longer I can immerse myself in this world the better. I love the texture of it.

Very interesting. Good find!

I'm pretty sure I saw that Deckard had set out nectar stations for the bees.

From what I've read:

- Ridley says he's a replicant

- Hampton Fancher (the primary writer on both films) has intended for it to be ambiguous (which we can see is carried over in 2049), but he did write one draft of the script for the original film where Deckard was a replicant

- Ford says he's human

- Phillip K Dick said he was human in the original book
