I loved this movie. Need to see it again to really catch everything. Really nice color, city-scapes (although like DL5x mentioned seemed lifeless for the most part). The sparse dialog really allows your mind to run wild.

About whether Deckard is a replicant or not:
I don't think he is. I think Wallace tried to fake him out to get him to talk, and it failed.

It's a shame the box office numbers aren't doing well, but I imagine they expected that. this isn't a block buster type movie nor was it trying to be.

It was trying to be a blockbuster type movie.

Thank god it did bomb or else we would probably be looking at 2 more sequels or a cinematic universe bullshit

So even when Hollywood actually takes a risk and makes a worthwhile film you want it to fail?

You do realize that if Blade Runner does fail then it just means they're going to double-down on Marvel and Fast And The Furious movies, right?

I have never enjoyed movie cels. CELS. I do not like franchises interlinked. INTERLINKED. Inside me is a great void in which I am imprisoned. CELLS. The blackness within.

failing at the box office and failing in general are two different things. the movie is getting great reviews by most people. it's just not going to be an initial financial success.

It will have to make money for them to greenlight a third film.

Honestly I don't want to see a third film if it's going to focus on what was addressed in 2049. It was lame in presentation with the current film and it's been done before.

I don't see how it would maintain the detective noir vibe that the current films are known for.

I like Fast and Furious

Why you shitting on Fast and Furious? You like them too

I think the difference is Fast and Furious knows exactly what it is . Action schlock

I mean, no one asked for a second BR. We all know the first didn't do well at the BO, only became a revered classic years later. I don't need another sequel, at least not for a long time.

I think I've finally had my fill of the series. There hasn't been a genuinely good one since Fast Five, Paul Walker is gone, and the street racing element has all but disappeared.

I'm ready to move on.

It was a blockbuster movie. It looked fucking amazing. Better than Avatar.

People can argue over the story all they want but the visuals were on point.

I'd like to see a third film that fully delivers on the promise of this film. I thought this one was good. But with just a little more work on the script it could've been great.

It could have been trimmed by 15-20minutes. I don't mind long movies but my god the movie was like almost 3 hours and slow in some parts. I still enjoyed the movie but it seemed like it was really a standalone movie like Terminator Salvation with a throw away main lead

You didn't think Gosling was great in this?
