The official posters are boring, uninspired, and generic as fuck. SMFH Hollywood.

Part of the reason why this was such a brilliant film in its day was 100% down to Rutger hauer.
His performance was stellar.
It's was only as I got older I really appreciate how good he was and the film is.
There is vision and beauty in it and originality and a feel a look and sound that set it apart from your average sci fi film.
I hope this delivers .

Ok, just looked him up. First of all, he's Candian.
Secondly, I have not seen a single film he's been in,
hence I know him by name only.
Is he a poor choice for this role?
if so, shame.

I'd say he's one of the relatively few trustworthy choices for the role. If the movie sucks, it won't be because he Shia'ed the franchise.

posters are pretty uninspiring which is shocking because Villenueve is responsible for some gorgeous film posters

Polytechnique

Incendies

Enemy - has two fantastic posters - one being very Hitchcock-ian

Prisoners (what i consider his worst poster because Hugh Jackman looks like a CGI creation ... but after seeing the Blade Runner ones...i dunno now)

Sicario

Arrival - not exactly amazing either but still better than the Blade Runner posters

New Trailer for BLADE RUNNER Coming in Three Days

As for the "boring" posters, I think Villeneuve (or whoever is in charge of marketing) was going for a minimalist look. They're also just character posters, so I'm sure there'll be a proper theatrical poster coming soon.

First Full Trailer for Denis Villeneuve's BLADE RUNNER 2049

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Trailer looks very promising but I did not realize Jared Leto would be in this one. That is a major boner killer.

Can't wait for this movie. Wish they hadn't of cast that prick Ryan Gosling though.

I know this is 30 years into the future of the original BR, but given the original BR timeline was 2019 and we're well a mere two years from that now...can't say it aged all that well.
