Movies Billy Zane As Marlon Brando

I remember reading in Bruce Campbells book that it came down to those two for the final casting and he was pissed he didn't get it, at that point it was meant to be Joe Dante directing (he did the Howling and Gremlins).

"And it was down to me and Billy, I was number two for the job, but I didn’t really enjoy the process very much because it seemed more political than actually acting," Campbell continued. "It was amazing how many people you had to audition for, and you had to go up the ranks and each time it got a little more tense as you move up. So I’m good doing these weirdo little movies."
I think Bruce would've been better for that role.

Zane is talented but being a superhero doesn't suit him.

They going to ignore the part where Marlon put butter all over Maria's asshole?

Just watched Sayonara last night with the gal.
Was a good flick.

Brando’s 1950s film resume is ridiculously good.

The Wild One, Streetcar, Viva Zapata, Julius Caesar, On the Waterfront, Guys and Dolls, Sayonara

Zane is a good actor. Wish he’d done more in his prime.

The weird thing, too is he had several movies where you could definitely see it being never look back, star making turn- Dead Calm most notably being an early example. But then he fell off for a bit. Damn good actor though. Hilarious cameo in Zoolander as well.

“You should listen to your friend Billy Zane. He’s a cool dude. He’s trying to help you out.”

“It’s a walk off! It’s a walk off…”
