Bets on whether Mitchell will bite back on the mic if he wins?

I don’t think he’ll get the mic. Dana showed his free speech rule has limits

Don't even know what he said that was so bad? He literally said he didn't agree with genocide, the war, or the drug use. Just admired how Hitler turned Germany around from completely devastated to an economic powerhouse and respected the fact he genuinely cared about his people and said how he would go fishing with him. This is what people are so upset about?
That's not what he said. So we're left to guess whether a) you didn't hear/read it and just defaulted to defense because you probably agree with the nazism, or his homophobia and/or antisemitism to some degree. Or b) you did hear/read it, and are downplaying it because you probably agree with the nazism, or his homophobia and/or antisemitism to some degree. Or c) you just didn't understand it because you're just a moron... which still doesn't eliminate the possibility that you might agree with the nazism, or his homophobia and/or antisemitism to some degree.

I'm gonna say for your sake that you're not a history buff and don't know/understand the factor behind Germany's growth, so I'll tell you why it's overstated and hope you can be satisfied, and tell you something about human relationships and why people were upset about what he said.

1) Germany before WW1 was a fast rising superpower, the biggest industrial power and had the largest and most competent army in the world. This came from centuries of investing in the army, large resources useful for heavy industrialisation (e.g. mines in the Ruhr) and a lively cultural environment even before the unification process. The competences and work obviously didn't disappear overnight.

2) They built an army, the best in the world at that, in just a few years. How? Clearly no economy can organically sustain that. The nazis did it with war economy (meaning all economy was redirected to industrial production and the army), forced labour and of course stealing from the minorities they imprisoned. As you can probably understand this isn't a sustainable economy and would have collapsed. That's why the plan was to occupy continetal Europe and basically steal everything and enslave local populations.
They also cheated other nations in international trade to both circumvent the Versailles treaty and not pay directly for the resources they bought.

3) It's understood that every conversation is within a context. If you talk to a friend and they know what your stances are, it's normal to speak about whatever. In a public space, talking to strangers, in a period and context in which nazis are on the rise and powerful, during a wide effort to rewrite the history of Europe's right wing dictatorships, saying what Bryce said sends a clear message. And of course people received that.

He will literally get crossed in his next fight. God hates Bryce.

He also has a platform. That's the issue.

I mean I hear people saying insane shit when I go the the grocery store.
The scary thing is he's not that much of an outlier.
I will say I don't feel he's malicious, just 65 IQ dumb

You’re confusing stupidity with crazy. Bryce has a college degree in Economics I think so he’s definitely not low IQ stupid. He’s just crazy.

UFC is a multi BILLION $ international company.

They have GOT to have a PR consultant or specialist on their payroll, or if not then some admin manager type that can pull Bryce into an office before fight week media:

"Hey so, maybe not so much with the Hitler stuff.
Mmmkay?

Alrighty. Got it? OK then.

Good luck with your fight."
According to Dana they don't censor their fighters. Except the times that they have. Free speech is cool and all but there need to be times where you should be able to tell someone "hey, it's probably best if you DON'T say that shit, alright?" without it being a "muh freedom!" uproar.

Brother I work in universities and trust me, there's plenty of college educated morons.
Plus economics is a sham degree.

My biggest issue with the UFC / free speech thing is the inconsistency.

Conor has crossed just about every line you can cross with no repercussions.

Threatening violence against Poirier's family
Actually physically assaulting people
Speaking ill of the dead
"Racist/xenophobic" remarks. Calling people "cholo" calling DC a "ghetto hillbilly" khabib "married a towel"

But Miguel Torres gets cut for a joke on Twitter.

"Yeah sorry, we were drunk."

It's amazing isn't it.

I'm sitting here enjoying the show with my popcorn

and somehow it would appear a large amount of people are choosing to be affected by the thoughts and behavior of a guy they have never and will never meet who gets punched in the face for a living.

This from a grown ass man who cries online about gender neutral names. Amazing the amount of unintentional stupidity around here.

I like Dana's excuse for slapping his wife. He argued the "too big to fail" technique of the banks. "What are you gonna do to punish me? That would only hurt the company and the fighters". Pretty much just weaseled his way out of any repercussions.

Cries eh?

Hmm. Project much there buddy?

Did that one hit a little too close to home Francis?

Let's also not forget that the "freedom" to speak has fucking nothing to do with occupational consequences. All the "free speech" advocates keep forgetting that you weren't prevented from saying shit, you'll just get fired afterwards

Let's face facts.

UFC BEFORE the Conor era was trying to maintain a certain image, trying to be a cleaner alternative to boxing. They been trying to keep MMA palatable so they can stay the fuck on TV. So guys like Renato Sobral and Miguel Torres get cut, even though with Miguel it was really just a temporary face saving measure and he was brought back.

Paul Daley was a personal thing. Dana talked to him and didnt like his response and thought "fuck him" he's gone. Personal like it was w Frank Shamrock or Randy or others who they never talk about anymore.

Then we had a new era. Conor and Khabib rivalry gets way out of hand and the money rolls in and its the most UFC ever did on PPV. Dana says "those dudes from Khabib's team who jumped in the cage arent gonna be allowed back"

But they were. Cos Khabib held all the cards at the end of that thing, and who really cares? UFC had a part to play in facilitating that post fight brawl by promoting the shit out of Conor throwing the dolly through the bus window. So they gotta EAT it when some shit like that happens after the fight.

Plus the money is rollin in

You gonna have a platform for a guy who says the shit Colby says, and you let him....then you gotta eat it when Masvidal jumps him in the street. Cos it goes hand in hand.

UFC is here to stay at this point and its becoming more and more like boxing with the money rolling in. They arent as concerned with being clean anymore.

No one gives a fuck about what they did or didnt do to Torres, Sobral and Daley. That is in the past.

Exactly. Back in the day they did everything to make the sport look nice and clean so they could get better sponsors, tv deals, etc. Remember how they always liked to tell us about whenever a guy had a college education? "Rich Franklin is a math teacher!" for the 128th time.
