The original claim that started this tangent was a claim that he was promoting his rape prevention seminars as a "cash grab", sir. Except that they're free and TLI has done them for years. Which led to people to ridiclously claim that it's a "cash grab" because seminar attendees might decide to sign up for regular classes.
That subsequently led to the claim that the redirect of the lloydirvinrape.com URL was also a "cash grab". Except that it redirected to a site for a free DVD. Now you guys want to cry about a shipping charge and spam emails? Now that's the "cash grab"?
If you're doing a cash grab, you don't do it with free seminars, spam emails, and DVDs where you pay nothing but a small fee for shipping. In fact, if you were trying to exploit women's self-defense as a way to make money, it would probably look a little more like this.
Something horrible happened at his school and instead of buying LloydIrvinRape.com to release a statement about the situation, clarifying his own history or providing a way for concern individuals to contribute money to organizations like RAINN, he uses it to promote his seminar which is a way businesses make money.
He used the site to manipulate and control what media and forums were saying, all while in the end this turns a profit for Lloyd Irvin. So yes, I stand by my statement that this was a cash grab by Lloyd Irvin. He used that site to redirect searches to a site he controls and while you're there "Go ahead and sign up for my email list!". Please....
As Rahm Emanuel said, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste".
So again I'll repeat what I said earlier. Doing this was classless, insensitive and amoral.
