BETA Academy owner explains ending relationship with Lloyd Irvin

Pretty sure every rape defendant that plead not guilty in the history of time has thought it wasn't rape. One doesn't normally admit guilt while pleading innocence.
More accurately has DENIED that it was rape. The guilty ones, of course, knew it was rape are just lying.

Thatrs because Nak has been trying to change his ways and make up for what he's done.
Meanwhile Lloyd hasn't come up for a breath from the sewer

But the what is motivating Nakapan to change his ways?.. He stands more to gain (in the short term at least) by distancing himself from Lloyd Irvin... He up to two months ago was a major player in Team Lloyd Irvin and the Martial Arts Millionaires Club... He deserves to be scrutinised just as much as Lloyd has been... it would be foolish not to do so

Yes, that would have been a better way to put it. I hadn't had my coffee yet when I made that post.

Time will tell if he meant it. As for Lloyd he's not even pretending to be sorry, hence us being mad

I've been posting here for years, and have been very open about where I train, who I train under, and I've even got pictures of myself posted on here. And frankly, I'm getting pretty sick of the ad hominems against anyone who doesn't fall in line with the groupthink around here.

I've been very open about what I think about Lloyd Irvin as well. But apparently saying that I think he committed rape and perjury in 1989 isn't good enough, because I don't think hosting free rape prevention seminars was EVIL. Yup, that must mean I'm Lloyd Irvin, or one of his minions.

Douchebag.

You know, its ironic to see the groupthink that you refer to on here - which is criticizing TLI for doing something similar. Obviously there is a disparity, and on here its all about being noble and trashing lloyd no matter what, but the irony is not lost on me.

Some one addressed this earlier its some college organistion, Omega Phi Psi:

Oh, so they require that you paint a masturbatory mural on your wall. That's badass.

I have one question I ask for determining if someone is an unrepentant douchebag.

Do you have a mural of yourself?

Seriously, the only place I have ever seen this is in the movie "Dodgeball."
That is the kind of person I want to have in my life. He's a fucking caricature.

Well put. I've always respected your input as one of the more reasonable posters here. You've taken a stand against Lloyd, but it's your own position, not the knee-jerk groupthink position. In this case my own opinion on this differs slightly from yours but I can understand where you're coming from.

You said this earlier in the thread:

Balto you know who in your team is CCW... How can Nakapan not know that his friend, business partner and leader of his team is CCW?.. It just don't add up man!

I have known Balto for like 5 years and didn't know he was CCW fwiw.

I think he should be scrutinized. I am pretty sure he will be after all of this.

The difference between Nakapan and Lloyd is that Nakapan distanced himself, apologized, and appears to have made some changes at least in the short term. As such, people are giving him a chance to change.

When this first started, I said we should give Lloyd the same chance. But instead of doing what Nakapan did (recognizing the wrongs and taking action to fix them), he put out a non-apology apology letter, tried to cover that one up too, put out a "success" video with murals of himself drawn on his walls, doubled down on scams with the Real Players' Ball in Vegas, etc.

There is no inconsistency here. Nakapan did some shitty stuff and is trying to change. Lloyd did some shitty stuff and is trying to figure out new ways to do more shitty stuff before anyone else gets wise to those too.

All this talk about Nak being a former scammer too, Ryan being mean at tournaments, etc. -- it's just another straw man. None of these instructors are perfect. This stuff is not news to anyone familiar with the scene.

The key difference is that the other guys are spreading a positive message and trying to make positive changes. Lloyd is doubling down on his negative message and trying to screw over even more people. That is a pretty huge difference.

Well one of our black belts is a firearms instructor, and some of his students are competitive shooters. So they talk about it a lot. Also a lot of guys at my gym like to shoot and talk about it after class.

Not all guys like to talk about it though, so those guys could be and I just don't know.

It's not like we pull it out in the gym.

Lloyd said he obtained his CCW after his home invasion incident... If true, its more than plausible that he would have talked to those closest to him like Nakapan... About obtaining the CCW, because the home invasion incident was one of the most significant events in his life and it was out in the open everyone knew what went down

I live in MD so I know how hard it is to get a CCW here... perhaps I need to consider subduing some home-invaders myself

Yeah I was kind of figuring I would just wait until a time at which I needed to be assured of your loyalty at a business meeting.

Yes, that is also plausible. That's why I said it's really one word against the other here without more detail or witnesses. But all together, there seems to be a pattern here with these statements.
