Some of these technically shouldn't count because they have more than 3 films, but if you were to take the 3 best films of the franchise, what is the best trilogy in the last 25 years?

I would say it's LOTR no question although The Dark Knight has always been my favourite, LOTR is probably the last movie or trilogy that is a 10/10 masterpiece or at least the closest to it.

Best trilogy apart from lord of the rings?
Not sure why that is included because it's obvious it's going to win easily.

*Dark knight would be in the running if the 3rd one wasn't such a pile of crap. 😁

Fun fact: the entire trilogy is based on a true story. All of it. No detail was spared.
No shit? That's pretty cool, loved the first 2 as a kid, Surf Ninjas as well

Easily LOTR. Best trilogy of all time imo.
I watch the full extended version every year and its always as good as the previous watch. Masterpiece.

LOTR. Last one to have a good combo of practical effects to digital before it all got lazy. Dark Knight is the better of all the films though.

LOTR wins this easily, and it would also easily win a best trilogy of all time list. It's the only trilogy where all 3 films are practically flawless.

Dark Knight was amazing though, and Batman Begins was great. If the 3rd movie had more follow through, it could be closer.

Definitely LOTR. May watch it with my 9 year old or wait another year or two.

The avengers. Because if you look at it as a trilogy then it ends with infinity war. Thanos wins and there's never any idiotic time travel BS.

Dark Knight is in my top 5 any genre, but Rises dropped the ball. LOTR for sure as the best trilogy, but the first 3 Bourne films were really well done and Damon killed it.
