Best Featherweight Ever

Why rule a boy's division if you can rule a man's division? McGregor did what all greats should do. Featherweight was obviously not for him, he destroyed a guy with 9 defenses in 13 seconds. Come on, it would even be kind of pathetic if McGregor defended instead of moving up to face harder opponents.

He knocked him out with a punch thrown in the first 13 seconds of a fight. It is not like he dominated him in a prolonged event. Anyone can catch Aldo with a good one punch knockout. Not everyone can beat Aldo in an mma match. Why is this so difficult for people to understand?

If knocking Aldo out in 13 seconds and then moving up to achieve greater things doesn't bring you close, then yeah, no one is close for sure.

Which evidence would mean more to you? Conor taking a walk or Conor running a marathon? He proved his greatness by doing something greater than merely defending against those small boy-size fighters. He did great against bigger and stronger fighters than the ones he would have defended against at kiddieweight.

Well lets take a look ...

Jose Aldo - undefeated in the division for 10 years ... Became WEC FW Champion and 2 x UFC FW Champion. Was 25 - 1 before losing his belt to Conor. WEC was the top organization for the smaller divisions. At the time Aldo was WEC champion there was no 145lb division in the UFC.

Conor - FW champion who Defended the belt 0 times. Undefeated in the UFC FW division from 2013 - 2015 in which time he left the division and lost to Nate Diaz.

There is no comparison when comparing the two accomplishments in the FW division. Aldo outshines everyone.

In your view 10 pounds makes the difference between a man and a manlet?

Okay, for the sake of the argument, let's say I'm trolling.

I'm trolling you by claiming that McGregor is the best featherweight fighter of all time. My argument is pretty stupid, I mean, the only thing McGregor did was to destroy Jose Aldo in seconds and he was, like, regarded as the best featherweight of all time?

Now, since I'm merely a troll, I must have posted something that was annoying, but definetely not true. Will you please elaborate on that? Or perhaps the troll isn't me?

Matt Serra beat GSP.

I guess he's the best LW of all time.

Max never even beat Aldo once. He did beat the ghost of Aldo twice, though, which was a cool achievement.

McGregor took away Aldo's prime, he was never the same after the fight.
Alright now you're officially a troll.

Who do you consider the best featherweight ever?

It used to be Jose Aldo, but he got one-shotted by McGregor, so IMO, this makes McGregor the best featherweight of all time. What's your thoughts?

Aldo no contest. It isn't even debatable. OP stop trolling.

Lol at people mentioning Aldo or Holloway. McGregor defeated both of them, at featherweight, and no other featherweight would be able to move up and beat guys like Diaz and Alvarez.

aldo with max closing in. Conor is in the top 10 id say for sure tho but didn't stay long enough to be considered the top of all time. Guys like faber and shit surpassed him, frankie etc

OK, you convinced me.

He defeated Aldo and Holloway. He only lost 1 fight, his featherweight debut. He defeated other featherweights in brutal fashion. He moved up and defeated Diaz and Alvarez.

No featherweight in history is better than McGregor head-to-head.

Had to be Mcgregor

He finished Aldo, Mendes , Poirier , Brimmage , and Brandao in less time than Aldo’s average fight time in the UFC

Aldo, easily. He's fallen off after 40ish fights but hey... that's aging for you.

In all seriousness, it’s in a bit of a limbo. But if Max defends against Ortega and one other contender he’s got the GOAT FW title easily.
Also would still have more defenses and both lost to Conor.

Quality means more than quantity. Or perhaps you consider Mighty Mouse the greatest P4P fighter of all time based on his number of defenses?

McGregor is the best featherweight, be reasonable.
