Media Beneil Dariush speaks after Tsarukyan loss: "I just wanna know if I still got it"

a good example of how being a nice guy in combat sports isn't the way to go

I'm thinking Beniel losing his last 2 fights by KO to Tsarukyan and Oliveira doesn't have anything to do with him being a nice guy and it seems those losses are far more detrimental to his career than being a nice guy could possibly be.

This place really is the worst. Imagine talking shit about Beneil for having the balls to take on upcoming guys.

And those who say that he's never beaten anyone good? Jim Miller, Thiago Moises, Drew Dober, Drakkar Klose, Mateusz Gamrot.
None of those are seen as an easy win by anyone facing them. Think about that before posting, maybe.

Not everyone blows their opponents or opts for pandering to the fans for fear of posts like this. Some just say how they honestly feel.

Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

No one in the universe actually believes, or "feels" that Dariush "didn't show up."

What he did was get blown out of the water, for the second time in a row.

Dariush has, in fact, been blown out of the water many times. It's nothing new.

* In 2014, Benny was KO'd in Round 1 by Ramsey Nijem.
* In 2016, Benny was KO'd in Round 1 by James Vick.
* In 2017, Benny was KO'd in Round 2 by Edson Barboza.
* In 2018, Benny was KO'd in Round 1 by Alex Hernandez,

After that last KO, Benny went on a four-year, eight-fight winning streak.

Now, Benny is getting back to his roots: he is once again getting KO'd in Round 1.

* In June 2023, Benny was once again KO'd in Round 1, by Charles Oliveira.
* In December, 2023, Benny was once again KO'd in Round 1, by Arman Tsarukyan.

The idea that "Benny didn't show up" is utterly ridiculous. No one believes that, not even Benny.

Benny's 2018 KO loss to Alex Hernandez was worse than Tsarukyan's.

That KO happened in 42 seconds, and Benny was absolutely flatlined by one shot.

The truth is, Benny is a nice guy, and a superior grappler, but he doesn't have a chin.

Yeah he basically said he felt he was better than what he showed. Not exactly a hanging offence.

Damn man , let it go lol

This was a great interview. Dariush's contemplating the danger of when his passion for fighting remains strong while his skill set might not remind me of Tony Ferguson's situation.

Never been a fan but damn did this guy get utterly fucked by the UFC lol

Guys like Colby sit out for half a decade with a ruptured rectum and get a gift title shot then dudes like Dariush go on a 8 fight win streak and just gets thrown to the wolves lol
This is why you need to advocate for YOURSELF.

It is real easy to screw over the "I'll fight whoever they put in front of me" guy.
Or in life, the passive person who doesn't stick up for themselves.

Beneil was top 5 in the world and had a double digit win streak and was OK fighting Charles instead of demanding the title fight he had EARNED.

Nice guys finish not first.
