Barr and Mueller's Two Testie-fy (SCO v. 34)

Mueller was given the authority to bring charges against trump himself. That’s why liberals were so thrilled, everyone knows that mueller disdains trump as a human being. Mueller couldn’t find any collusion. End of story.

He agreed with Barr, he just wanted emphasis. So end of story.

No he was not. Why do you say this?

Let’s not even get into the fact trump broke laws and obstructed justice left and right.

That post it note at the justice department, on the wall behind the coffee machine, says we can’t indict though.

andnowIDontKnowShit :

"Mueller has integrity, and he'll openly disagree with Barr"

Until he doesn't disagree with Barr. Then it changes to "Mueller IS IN CAHOOTS WITH BARR!!! IMPEACH HIM!! IMPEACH THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Why can't Trump supporters like you accept that Mueller meant what was in that letter, that the letter was written for the reasons stated in the letter? Why do you need to created some counterfactual world where Mueller doesn't support what was written in that letter?

Again, it was clear that Barr misrepresented what was stated in the Mueller report about obstruction when the redacted report was released. That has been clear for weeks now. That isn't spin, you just look at what the Mueller report said verses how Barr created "public confusion" about what it said when he wrote his memo to "describe the report and to summarize the principal conclusions reached by the Special Counsel and the results of his investigation."

What the March 27th Mueller letter (which is a very atypical thing in the DOJ) shows is that Mueller recognized the "public confusion" Barr created immediately, and tried to remedy the "public confusion about critical aspects of our investigation" by talking to "the department in person on the afternoon of March 24th" (the day Barr released his memo). That he sent a letter to Barr on March 25 "that enclosed the introduction and executive for each volume of the special counsels report marked with redactions to remove any information that potentially could be protected by Federal Rule of Procedure... accordingly the enclosed documents are in a form that can be released to the public consistent with legal requirements and department policies." And that he then sent him a second letter on March 27 "requesting that you provide these materials to congress and authorize the public release at this time".

It’s the daily double!

What did he misrepresent?

Funny to see certain posters calling for deleting of posts or thread bans when a certain poster does nothing but post tin foil tweets non stop

You're referring to Barry "Homer Thompson" Dillon and his infatuation with Seth Abramson, aren't you? <{jackyeah}><{jackyeah}><{jackyeah}>

One more before I call it a night :

DEAL WITH IT.

What specific facts from the Mueller report did Barr get wrong/misrepresent?

okay..for real this time. Last post before I go get some sleep.

The long game from Dems is a whole new worse swamp - make no mistake:

1) They don't want any non-politico upsetting the apple-cart ever again - like Trump did. They will try as hard as they can to drag Trump's personal business, finances, children etc into a quagmire to head off people like Bloomberg, Cuban, Shultz, etc every having the temerity to get into the hog pit again

2) They will increasingly violate the principle of representation by directing resources as a party to suppress Dems they don't like and ones that fail to toe the party line. This sounds reasonable but it's actually a sea-change from the bedrock understanding that representatives are there to reflect the will of their local constituents - not the national goals of a political party. To ask a Dem from Montana to vote lockstep with one from New York is absurd on its face. But the Dems want that - they want the Chinese one party model.

Good Night.

Whats up with Mueller's gay ass JD Salinger bullshit? What a fucking goof sitting on the sidelines writing letters like a bitch. If he had a problem he should have manned the fuck up and did an interview or called a press conference. He's no better than that fat lying fuck Barr.

What did he misrepresent?

I am talking about him misrepresenting Mueller on obstruction, remember all of that "Mueller punted on obstruction" talk after Barr's memo? Barr spun it that because of the special counsel not "reaching any legal conclusions leaves it to the attorney general to determine whether the conduct in the report constitutes a crime", which is why people thought Mueller had punted.

It was clear in the report though that Mueller was following OLC guidelines that he couldn't indict a sitting president, and that coming to conclusion on obstruction wouldn't allow Trump the opportunity to defend himself in a court of law, but that the report "also does not exonerate him. He then said that "the conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law". He obviously wanted congress to make the call.

And that is why Mueller wrote (or at least signed;)) that March 27th letter (after talking with the department in person on the day Barr released his memo on March 24th, and sending a letter on March 25th, per what was said in the March 27th letter) saying that Barr's memo had created "public confusion about critical aspects of our investigation". In the March 25th letter he "enclosed the introduction and executive summaries for each volume of the special counsels report marked with redactions to remove any information that potentially could be protected by Federal Rule of Procedure... accordingly the enclosed documents are in a form that can be released to the public consistent with legal requirements and department policies." And that he then sent him that second letter on March 27 "requesting that you provide these materials to congress and authorize the public release at this time".

And Barr didn't do that, and then on April 9th he bullshitted Rep Crist about it:

Rep Charlie Crist: "Reports have emerged recently, general, that members of the Special Counsel's team are frustrated at some level with the limited information included in your March 24th letter, Do you know what they are referencing with that?"

Barr: "no I don't."

I'm sure the Republicans in Congress will be going after Barr for lying with the same veracity they went after Cohen for lying. Since it's pretty clear that either Barr is completely incompetent, or that he lied with his response.
