Multiplat BALDUR'S GATE III

i had 30 hours on my last save. but starting anew as i cant remember where i was or what i was even doing.

going for a zariel tiefling oath of the ancients paladin again because it seemed to work the last time around. hoping i won't run into too much trouble down the road.

i got a buddy who plays this and he usually rocks a bard. i guess they are kind of a jack of all trades master of none kind of build. though i dunno if thats my kind of style. i dont want my companions to be getting pounded away on while i'm just standing around playing a flute lol.
Swords bard is such a fun main character imo. Can pass dialogue checks, can have all the utility spells and a few control/damage spells and can shoot a bow multiple times a turn. It's almost too good.

just reading about this new honour mode thing they added. what a bunch of sadomasochists!

i don't think i'll ever be seasoned enough to get through that. hell on my first go with this game i couldn't go 10 minutes without save scumming.

I tried it once but I had no idea your whole save is wiped if you die. Once I died and found that out I was done. I don't mind a mode with only one save but not being able to die is way to hardcore.
You start getting used to having one person in a spot where you can dash and flee to camp. Then you can resurrect dead members. There are still times and fights where you can't do that but the majority of fights you can get away if things go south.

bout to sacrifice wyll to BOOAAAL and the fish people. motherfucker just showed up at my camp and tried to start shit before i could even get to know the guy. no thanks, i ain't having none of that. just who do you think you are bud, all coming into my camp and thumping your chest around? sorry pal, you're done.

remember thy name BOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL

*wild chanting!*

i'm not even sure what i get out of this, but i hope i don't miss out on too much.

alright so i told a buddy who plays this that i just sacrificed wyll to the fish people and apparently that was a bad idea because it locks me out of a good bit of act 3 quests and gear or something

fortunately i had a previous save to fall back on but now i gotta start the underdark all over again :(

This weekend I decided to to fire this up again and went with a Paladin build. Big change from my ranger build.
Ooohhh, what subclass you thinking of going with?

Pally and bard are the only 2 classes I haven’t played as yet

It does but depends on if you plan on using Wyll or if you’re playing a warlock, then I would suggest the reload. If you’re not using Wyll or not a warlock it’s not that bad . I’m trying hard not to give off spoilers . His quest just flavors Mizora quest and his dad.

i went back and reloaded an old save. i dont want to miss out on much

speaking of which, i've found all kinds of stuff i missed during my first go at this game last year, including all this gear and quests in the underdark. ive cleared out the forge and now i'm just gonna do the mountain pass stuff.

in 20 hours (probably far less i afk'd a good bit on this) i've managed to get right where i was in my first playthrough and that one i got a little over 30 hours on. so i guess it didn't take me very long to shake the rust off.

it was a little bit of a slog at first. just reached level 6 in my party and i feel like they're finally starting to come together right when i got to level 5. now i got all these extra actions, and i'm not too worried about being stingy with my spells because ive hoarded a shit tonne of camp supplies just by exploring every nook and cranny and looting every damn thing i can get my hands on.

right now i'm following this kind of walkthrough and i'm on a mission to track down this blood of lathandar sword for shadowheart and sit on this chair thing with my pally somewhere in some monastary past the mountain pass because it'll let me use ilithid powers as a bonus action, and then right after that i'll just try to tie everything off and clear out the rest of the pass and then finally move on to act 2.

If you havent left act 1 yet , did you find the beholder in the UD? That’s a nice tie in quest for the Grymforge and Nere. I found them on my second playthrough and fish people of booal in my third playthrough lol . There’s lots to see and explore each and every time and I love it

the spectator? just looked it up and no i dont think i did, but now its on my bucket list

there was also a spectator i could summon if i lockpick this chest of a shipment i am supposed to deliver somewhere in baldurs gate and then use the flask thing at this certain area near the emerald village.. but that will pretty much fuck over the quest i think

oh wait. i did take down that spectator. that was like my first encounter in the underdark after i did the puzzle thing and unlocked the waypoint and the front gate. i veered off to the side first and thats where i had to fight it.

i battered it down with laezel and made short work of it. i even got an achievement during that battle for performing 5 actions in one turn. i snuck up on it and surprised it with a range attack from a bow, then i killed its statue buddy with laezel and it gave me another free turn, and then i used action surge and got an extra turn and then i used a bonus to slap it down some more. i'm not sure how it all went down but by the time laezel gave it a good thrashing my pally was able to make short work of it with a couple smites.

i don't even think it managed to get a lick in on my party.

Not the one you from the flask. This is one you find by the mage tower from the temple of selune . Beholder and a bunch of drow fight you and you once you kill the Beholder the drow give you some nice dialogue regarding the grymforge

yeah thats the one i was talking about. i havent done the earlier one with the flask.

right now i'm at the grymforge with some level 10 boss dude with 300 hp who's about to throw hands with me. i never made it this far on my first run. i'm thinking i'm about to get my ass handed to me.
