New update dropped.

Have fun man, I think you'll love this!Picked this up today and wife works this weekend so should get about 15 hours in. Looks like they just had a huge patch so good timing.
How did Larian expand on DOS2?I've been thinking about potential expansions. Since they're hesitant to do super high level content due to logistics nightmares with high end abilities, I'm hoping they take the same route Firaxis did with their Xcom games and just expand the main game/story.
They could easily just add more races/classes to play and potentially even more party members. It'd be cool to see something like Goliath as a playable race and expanded content classes/sub classes, like Genie Warlock. Add a bunch of those and some new low/mod level content and I wager people would shove money at them.
Hell yes.

I take it you're playing on your TV with a controller? It's the best way IMO. I played on my ultra wide monitor with m&k at my desk, but I def prefer it on my TV with a controller. My tv's HDR is better too, and this game has lots of rich colours.
It can be a bit cumbersome, but the immersion you get from zooming the cam in and moving analogue makes it worthwhile.
The exploration in this is so damn rewarding. I haven't been able to play for a bit, but only being early in act III, I was little worried about exploration not being as fun. However, I spent the last 5 or 6 hours wandering through and beneath the City, it's just as great. I've stumbled on to so many cool places, solving quests and gaining new ones, this game is nuts.
I really love how there's advanced tech (magic punk?) in this. It makes the world feel so inique. I haven't played D&D in a while so I've been out of the lore loop.
Such a weird situation. Phil was literally doing an interview the day before saying they will not be making any changes to the parity clause and was kind of making it sound like this was a Larian problem. Then the next day Larian tweets the game is dropping and MS is allowing them to bypass parity clause. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall and know what happened here.
I'm sure this is just an exception and only if the development is analyzed and the conclusion is the Series S is just too weak then some compromises can be made.
Literally hundreds of games have been released with Series S/X compatability, so exceptions are going to be few & far between.
Yeah every act is pretty much its own area. There isn't any big message saying Act 2 or Act 3 after you get into them but I got an achievement from Steam saying I completed act 1 and then act 2 when I did it so that's how I knew, but you can pretty much tell by the big shift in the area when you enter the next act and the game will give you a message asking you to make sure you tie up all loose ends before entering the next area. Yep TV and controller. The game is amazing. Reminds me of Dragon age origins but on steroids. I'm currently at the Goblin section dealing with the final leader now. I went somewhere deep down inside that was clearly not a place I'm ready for and got wrecked but I got a decent sword down there. I have a ton more days off so I think I'm going to call in tomorrow so I can get some more time in. Probably going to pass on dealing with the final leader for now while I explore more.
Also does each Act have it's own map? Also I assume I will know when I'm about to enter a new act?

I think the only thing that they added was the new squirrel companion DLC. By the time that got realased I alaready went through a full playthrough twice so I wasnt going to give it a third try. Full gameplay was just as long as BG 3 with both clocking it a tad over 100 hours although I still think that the Red Prince was the best companion out of all Larian studio releases. I hope he returns in Divinity 3How did Larian expand on DOS2?
When they put out the definitive edition, I know there were some big changes. I never finished that game.though, so I have no idea what changed.
Thing with Act 3 is that the main mission probably clocks in around 10-15 hours but if you add in all the side quest in town, it easily adds another 20 hours. That includes quests like the Orpheus hammer that is not really that necessary for the main mission if you go through just one routeYeah every act is pretty much its own area. Ok as long as I get this I'll be good to go. Man so I have a lot of the map still left to explore then.
im ready for act 2 but i still got all this side shit i wanna do.
