Błachowicz has a real shot against Izzy

Ignoring the Rockhold fight, Jan's best body of work is from the inside when his opponent is coming in hot. I just can't imagine him catching Izzy moving forward when we all know Izzy is going to sit on the outside and wait for an opening. Izzy is a slippery/crafty guy.

His best bet is to clinch him against the cage to slowly grind him out and maybe attempt takedowns to make Izzy weary.

Of course he does. This isn’t Anderson vs Forest... not even close. Izzy is not prime Anderson and Jan ( unlike Forest) hits like a truck. Yea, ultimately I believe that Izzy will be too fast but the gap is way closer than many think and anything can happen in mma. Jan has more than a punchers chance.

People can overlook this guy if they want. I know a lot of people did against Reyes as well and we all saw how that went.

I guarantee Izzy thinks this is an easy win. It's not. Błachowicz has a will to win and gets the job done.

He has much more power than Adesanya, and he has a blackbelt and actual submission wins in the UFC. Wouldn't be surprised if Błachowicz actually tries to take this to the ground, but even if he doesn't he is still dangerous on the feet and could contend with Izzy.

My guess is that Adesanya is going to just stick and move and try to win on points for a decision... which he very well could do.. but I don't think this is a showcase fight as much as people are thinking. Błachowicz has also only been KO/TKO'd 1 time in the UFC in 15 fights, and I don't know if I see Adesanya doing it. He will have 5 rounds to try and get a finish - all it takes is 1 good shot.

Anyway I'm predicting another win and another belt for Adesanya but I agree that Jan is a big challenge. I like Jan but I'm Rooting for Izzy as usual.

I think should be a good fight, Izzy has had favorable matchups for him as a former kickboxer and most of his opponents stood with him playing into his game. Yan does have a plan b which is grappling and being the bigger guy should give him a big advantage there. I dont see Yan standing there like a punching bag like Costa did.

That’s because of the takedown threat. Time after time we have seen wresslers out striking better strikers due to the fear of being taken down. Prime, roided Shael would have taken Israel down for 25 minutes. The guy is good but lucky that there are no good mma wresslers to challenge him.

Israel got beaten up by fatty welter Gastelum. Got put in queer street. It is impossible to compare Shael to Gastelum. Prime Anderson would have smoked Kelvin in a heartbeat.

Israel is a beast, don’t get me wrong... and I pick him to defeat Jan. But he is so lucky that guys like DC, Randy, Chael, Lindland or even Gsp and Hughes are not around. He’d get wrecked. Hell, I even like him against current Jones who forgot how to take people down. He’d get lit the fuck up if he tries to play like he has lately.
