Błachowicz has a real shot against Izzy

Jan has underrated takedowns and wrestling, which if Izzy ignores he will get taken down and put out. But if Izzy comes as prepared he was for Costa he's going to smoke Jan.

People can overlook this guy if they want. I know a lot of people did against Reyes as well and we all saw how that went.

I guarantee Izzy thinks this is an easy win. It's not. Błachowicz has a will to win and gets the job done.

He has much more power than Adesanya, and he has a blackbelt and actual submission wins in the UFC. Wouldn't be surprised if Błachowicz actually tries to take this to the ground, but even if he doesn't he is still dangerous on the feet and could contend with Izzy.

My guess is that Adesanya is going to just stick and move and try to win on points for a decision... which he very well could do.. but I don't think this is a showcase fight as much as people are thinking. Błachowicz has also only been KO/TKO'd 1 time in the UFC in 15 fights, and I don't know if I see Adesanya doing it. He will have 5 rounds to try and get a finish - all it takes is 1 good shot.

I'm the guy you thought i was directing "fun bump" at. Reading through your post, I agree 100% the Blachowicz has a very good chance at winning. The fact that he can both strike and take you down and look for subs makes him very dangerous. Blac has to make it a dirty fight though, stay inside or all the way out. Use grappling to get it against the cage or ground. That is where he needs to use his striking, against the cage or on the ground. Adesanya knees could be dangerous as well so Blac has to be careful where he positions his head when closing the distance or going for takedowns. Just gotta keep an eye or Adesanya's back leg. If he can get the fight against the cage and on the ground, I really like his chances. But if he comes in there trying to swing from the outside early, I don't. He needs to make it a grind, get Adesnanya down make him carry or against the cage his weight for a while and tire him out. The subs and the strikes will open up if he does that. Everyone wants to come in and KO Adesanya, which I don't get it. Vettori showed everyone the hole is Adesnya's game.

Now with all that said, taking Adesanya down still isn't that easy. He has good footwork and is good at controlling range, which means his opponents usually have to chase him to get in range for a takedown. A badly timed takedown attempt is and opportunity for a counter from Adesanya. This is why the Adesanya Romero fight was so lackluster. But even if you do get your hands on Adesnya, we'd all be stupid to believe that he didn't work on his TDD after the Vettori fight.

True, I am sure Adesanya totally has been working on his TDD constantly whether we see it in fights or not. Will be interesting to see how the weight change affects it.

If Polish Power crowds him like Khabib did to Gaethje, he wins with a short hook. If he plays in Izzys range he's going to lose by points or KO.

Not sure how good his grappling is but since he's much larger, he might want to try some takedowns, gnp, and subs.

I think if he utilizes the body kicks like in the Reyes fight, he can put Israel away in the later rounds with punches.

49-45 And still

Congrats to Jan, and good call TS

Anyone can be figured out like you say, but with Izzy it's exceedingly difficult. His feints and movement are next level.

Any excuse to post this video series. Watch and admire.

Good luck to sny fighter figuring out this sorcery.

Guess Jan has better magic
