Fuck me. People keep asking me "How was it?" and the only response I can come up with is.... Intense. I gave it a 10. That's the first time I've ever done that. But as I'm processing everything I want to rate it higher....

ffs we're going to kill off all these super heroz with them just turning to dust & blowing away? Can I please do a re-write where Thanos rips them in half & beats one of them to death with the torso of another. I'm not an advocate of that kind of violence... but I'm just saying that there could've been major opportunities to make some classic screen time deaths where Thanos is just ripping through our favorite super hero'z left & right... but instead of that, lets just have them disolve into dust.

I would assume now that all the Marvel elitists can't bash on star wars any more for making Luke disappear into the force ... so that's a positive I suppose.

I really don't care for that, but we're 50% of the story at this point... so I'll give the story a chance to unfold before i pass to harsh of a judgement. With time travel in the mix, I'm going to assume that everything moves on like none of it ever happened... & everyone is still alive.

Dude. You missed out on one of the greatest things about the movie, for me. When he said "You should have aimed for the head" and snapped his fingers.... I couldn't fathom how they were going to handle explaining that half of life in the universe just didn't exist anymore. I was imagining someone listing off who's not around anymore. Then, they cut back to Wakanda and Bucky said "Steve?" with that look on his face and slowly turned to ash. That shit tripped me the fuck out. I, literally, had an acid flashback. And it only got worse with each one. When Stark said "Keep it steady Quill" and Starlord started dissappearing was another one. I don't think I need to even mention Spidey. Fuck! That got me! "Mr. Stark. I don't feel so good." "Mr. Stark I don't want to go".... Every single one of them was crazy. I kept thinking oh fuck wos next? Panther surprised the fuck out of me too. ALL of the GotG are gone except Rocket!

I don't usually notice the score in movies. At least not the way some people do. I never consider it into my ratings unless it's strong enough, positively, for me to notice it, but the score during those scenes was probably the best I've ever encountered.

That was really my only gripe. Thanos alpha'd him.

That was a pro-wrestling level putting the beast over moment if I ever saw it. Hulk got absolutely sonned and then was gunshy the rest of the movie...

that said,

I loved the way he took out that big f'n dude from The Black Order.

I thought his viewpoint was deluded. He thinks he's acting for the greater good but in arbitrarily sentencing half of the universe to instant death he's not somehow mystically making life better for all the remaining individuals, those who can better allot resources among themselves.

As we see in the post-credits scene

you're also causing many other fallout deaths because whose manning the cars, buses, and planes when certain drivers and pilots immediately dissipate. You're also causing multiple generations of misery among survivors who have to try to process what the fuck happened to their loved ones and why they themselves are still around but those others are gone. Guy framed everything like he knew what was best for the universe. Seemed like a deluded mfer to me.

When I think of Thanos in this movie, I think of that old adage, "when you only have a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail." So instead of contemplating how to solve the universe's problems- make it more fruitful, improve energy management or productivity and use of resources, he's looking to kill so that there are fewer individuals occupying it. Why? Because he's a malevolent piece of shit who worships death.

I thought that too, but they made a point to highlight him saying the universe was finite and resources were limited. So maybe the Infinity Gauntlet only works within the framework of the universe.

9/10. Nice story! Thought Iron Man was donezo. Why was the hulk such a pussy? He’s 0-3 in his last 3 (Hulk Buster suit, Thor and Thanos)

Not to mention his "win" over Hela's big wolf was mainly just not dying when they both fell off the bridge. How are you not going to have Hulk go King Kong on that wolf and snap the jaw or something.

Yeah you can't really show how much of a beast someone is in a better way than that. Beating the shit out of the hulk with ease will definitely do the job.

I'm glad they found a use for Bruce with that suit.

Any chances the licensinf agreements in Xmen and FF could allow some of those charectors to show up in Infinity War 2? I thought the bonus scene was goinf to be solver surger flying helufh space when something catches his eye.

I prefer they save all that for after infinity wars.

Absolutely.

I was kind of surprised Loki, the consummate trickster's plan was to try to catch Thanos off guard with a knife to the throat. He really had no cards to play at that point I guess though.

Excellent post
I'm right there with you. When Bucky started to fade...... I mean, god damn. Such a weird feeling. It's like oh shit, they really fuckin did it. Those crazy bastards really did it.

That wasn’t the scene I am talking about okbye

Seeing it the second time with a fresh crowd was soooooo much better!!! Audience reactions were fantastic!!! Best audience reactions in no particular order...

1) Loki death right off the bat shook people.
2) When Gommorha is chastising Thanos for crying and Red Skull says, "those tears aren't for him" the audience collectively was like ''oh no!" and when she got thrown off the cliff, someone was like, "NOOOO!!!" Audible sniffling from tears could be heard
3) When Thanos stabs Tony Stark/Iron Man, the audience gasped...hard.
4) When everyone starts turning to dust...I wish I could've recorded the audience. At first they were confused when it happened to Bucky. Then it happened to T'Challa and someone yelled, "NOOOOO!!!" Then Groot and the girl next to me started crying
5) This deserves it's own one...the Spiderman death scene made everyone in my section tear up. Girl next to me is bawling at this point.
6) The score mixed with Thanos smiling and resting at the end and the screen just turning off...so many different sounds from the audience...kids crying, people yelling "WHAT?!" people cussing...it was GREAT!!!

Should've played this song during the credits!!!

Also, it's clear to me what's going to happen in the next movie. The first phase Avengers are all alive (minus Nick Fury) and they're going to save the phase 2 Avengers who are "dead." I think that some of the phase 1 Avengers are going to sacrifice themselves to make this happen. So permanent death will happen in Avengers 4. It will be a passing of torches in a way.

I didn’t look at the time once. That movie could have gone another hour and I wouldn’t have even noticed.
I looked once, I suppose about 20min after I really needed to take a leak. Saw there was an hour left so I had to go down and up the stairs on one leg (I'm injured atm) lol
After that I could easily do another 2h.
Which may have been the original idea for IW.

I am hoping against all hope that Fox and Marvel snuck in an agreement and Hugh Jackman and others did a secret shoot somewhere that will find its way into the next movie..

I enjoyed the movie. It sucked barely seeing Hulk since he's my favorite character. They better make up for it in Avengers 4 and have him do something spectacular.

The movie kept on talking about balance right? A pussified hulk in this movie means an all out ass kicking hulk in the next one!

its already been filmed.... so I highly doubt it, maybe at most there will be a teaser

Dude. This has been a 10 year set up. Even my non comicbook wife knew what was going on by virtue of the fact she’s watched all the films. So if you've watched the MCU films as you said you have, you should be well aware of what was at stake.

The only people that should be legit lost with the movie are the newly minted Black Panther fan base that never watched the previous offerings, because “reasons”.

Call it 7/10? Fine. Gig it for not rehashing everything that has already been teed up in previous films? Then you would’ve missed the Mir fight completely, because it would be a 4 hour flick.

I've watched nearly all of the Marvel movies but I'm not sure I've watched any of them more than once. So if there was some mention of Thanos or the Infinity Stones in Iron Man 2 or whatever, then my remembrance of that is long gone (which doesn't seem unreasonable to me).

I think that this film could've benefited from a quite prologue that explains what the Infinity stones are and who Thanos is. It doesn't have to take long. Just a few minutes to give a quick overview and bring everyone up to speed.

yeah Thor is probably the biggest hitter right now, gotta be stronger than Hulk imo

I'd say so. In Ragnarok it started to look like the momentum was big-time shifting in Thor's favor in the latter stages of the arena fight and he didn't have his signature weapon in that.

Yeah those are all great, I guess you prefer what @TheRuthlessOne mentioned. A more compact story can just feel more crisp, if that makes sense. But I love the epicness of Infinity War. It balances things well, gives us all of the characters together in a coherent way, awesome fight scenes, etc.

I mean compare this to Justice League, it's not a guarantee that things are going to work well just because you have all of these cool characters in one movie. Infinity War manages them really well.

This was certainly better than Justice League. No doubt about that.

But I feel like the smaller films tend to have stories that feel more original and interesting. Winter Soldier, for instance, is basically a spy thriller in the garb of a superhero movie.

This film basically felt like 2 1/2 hours of fight scenes and that just isn't enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.

But if it worked for you, hey, more power to you.

Pretty damn close to what happened when I watched it.

With 2 it was extra quiet and eerie. Like no one was munching or drinking. Everyone was like oh shit she’s going to die.. fucked up!

5 was special.. if any scene deserved an award it would be the Spider-Man death.. he sold that completely.
