I'm not saying I was totally lost. I think I understood the broad strokes of the plot. But I do think some things are just not well explained, like the exact powers of each infinity Stone and what happens (precisely) when all are collected.

And as for anything that was explained to anybody in GotG, that shit was like 4 years ago or whatever. Maybe all of those little details would be fresher in my mind if I had marathoned all the MCU movies in preparation for this one, but how many people are actually gonna do that?

Like I said, a quick four-minute prologue at the beginning of the film that sums up everything that's been presented in earlier movies solves that problem.

Filthy casual. You still my dude though.

reading through now, actually agree w/ others about there being plotholes, not being perfect but perhaps overrated initially b/c of pure shock value...
but that being so many things happened, there's not enough time to properly emotionally capture all of that, and still keep the humor similar to Thor/Deadpool, keep all the different storylines, and things that spanned numerous comic issues IRL

So i think they did a pretty decent job overall, plus we have no clue (unless Warlock/Him gets involved w/ Captain Marvel) how it's going to be resolved so I say we let this shit play out....

They certainly had balls, give em that much

When did Thor beat Hulk in Avengers? Hulk was tossing Thor around at the time that jet showed up and started firing at Hulk.

Watch from 3:00 on

Now if THIS Hulk had been there in the beginning to fight Thanos, I think he could have put up more of a fight.

It's almost like Hulk gets weaker each appearance he makes. Avengers Hulk > AoU Hulk > Rag Hulk > IW Hulk

One thing I want to ask you guys

We know the guys who got purged aren't staying dead, but what about Gamora? That shit really unsettled me because she's the only one of the individual heroes I can legitimately look at and be like, definitively, they've killed her off. From the fact that she died before the infinity stone purge rather than part of it makes me worried about her big. Really like the character and Zoe's involvement in the MCU.

Hell, even Loki, though I assume he's full on done for, they left their twinge of ambiguity in there. Thor saying to Rocket that his brother "had died before but I think this time he might have died for certain," is not very emphatic lol. Still leaves room for doubt.

This was certainly better than Justice League. No doubt about that.

But I feel like the smaller films tend to have stories that feel more original and interesting. Winter Soldier, for instance, is basically a spy thriller in the garb of a superhero movie.

This film basically felt like 2 1/2 hours of fight scenes and that just isn't enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.

But if it worked for you, hey, more power to you.

Yeah there was a ton of fighting, but there was also quite a bit of progress in multiple character's stories. Gamora/Thanos, Thor, Vision, Bruce. Didn't just feel like a mesh of fight scenes to me.

Just rewatched this movie.

My favorite part was the 10-15 second where Thanos tools the Hulk. I need that shit in gif form STAT. Gives me wood.

I think that Gamora will somehow be back. I think Loki is gone this time.

You don't have to use spoiler tags anymore btw.

Thor is trying to restrain an enraged Hulk, Hulk is trying to rip his head off

so it may be 1-1.... but Thor almost killed the guy that bitch slapped Hulk lol. MMA-Math = Thor wins lol

I think we saw this Hulk when he first attacked Thanos, it's just that he was caught off guard how strong Thanos was and lost his confidence. Not to mention Hulk is still maturing and he was throwing haymakers while Thanos was straight pulling some MMA type moves haha

Interviews have it that the next GOTG will heavily focus on Zoe Saldana. Litterally doubt now that ANYONE stays dead.

I think her soul is trapped in the soul stone and she will be rescued either in A4 or the next GotG movie

why are people still using spoiler boxes? lol

I doubt Gamora is gone for good. Guardians franchise is still a thing and it would be significantly worse without her.

She could be trapped inside the Soul stone. Regardless, I'm pretty sure she comes back in Avengers 4 or bringing her back somehow is a storyline for Guardians 3.

I enjoyed the movie. It sucked barely seeing Hulk since he's my favorite character. They better make up for it in Avengers 4 and have him do something spectacular.

You know they will.

The whole “no” Hulk thing is clearly setting up for the next movie when he inevitably says “yes”....and they will have primed that moment for a legendary ass whooping.

Any chances the licensinf agreements in Xmen and FF could allow some of those charectors to show up in Infinity War 2? I thought the bonus scene was goinf to be solver surger flying helufh space when something catches his eye.

Other than a cameo or post credits scene, probably not. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure Avengers 4 is already done filming.

maybe i'm retarded and missed it, but did they explain why Hulk wouldn't come out?
i presume it's because he got chumped by the stronger/equal Thanos, but i don't recall it ever being addressed till he just started being able to do it again

Basically it. He’s scared cause he got his ass handed to him in 20 seconds..

Some funny humor in here too. I nearly spit my drink out when

Teen Groot is told to stop playing the video game and really obnoxiously/mockingly says "I am Groot," and the Guardians lose their shit like he just cursed Quill out big time.

Also enjoyed

Drax creepily watching Peter and Gamora and then explaining he had been there for an hour...
.

Thor telling The Guardians about the Avengers, "the world's greatest heroes," and Mantis excitedly asking, "like Kevin Bacon?" And Thor, not missing a beat, and having no idea who Kevin Bacon is, "Maybe. He might have joined, I haven't been there for some time."

You're embarrassing me in front of the wizards.

Definitely more than that, but those were the ones that first came to mind.

i think she's gone for good, same w/ Loki

it would otherwise diminish the supposed sacrifice Thanos made (as well as the attempt to empathize w/ him), and while it would clearly effect Starlord in the future (i think the rest of Guardians will be brought back barring maybe Mantis) but also provide further depth to his character to build on.

Plus even if someone got the timestone and tried to reverse it, only Red Skull knows what happened right besides Thanos? no clue if someone could do like a 'restore point reboot' on a computer to a set date/time in the past to negate that fact, but either way i think she's gone.

Nebula is still there too to perhaps became further developed

edit: well shit just read Tiny's post regarding the interviews, nevermind haha
